Two teams heading in opposite directions meet at the King Power Stadium on Saturday and the visitors look like a solid bet.
Thomas Tuchel’s side have continued to improve and they’ve lost only twice this season, to Manchester City in the Premier League and Juventus in Europe. They’ve been particularly effective on the road, with four wins and a draw so far – and those dropped points came against Liverpool.
By contrast, Leicester have shown only glimpses of their form of the last two seasons. Four wins from eleven Premier League games is a poor return and right now they are looking more like a mid-table team and I can’t see them troubling Chelsea.
One of the highlights of the UK National Hunt calendar is staged this weekend as some of the best staying steeplechasers compete for the Betfair Chase.
Bristol de Mai has dominated this race, winning it three times and although he generally prefers softer ground than he will find at Haydock this weekend, his record at this course and in this race in particular demands respect.
But this looks a particularly hot renewal and there are several rivals with better form, including the favourite A Plus Tard. Henry De Bromhead’s seven-year-old was a creditable second in the Gold Cup in March, and there may be more to come. A horse that goes well fresh, he has a liking for left-handed courses and conditions should be ideal for him on Saturday, making him a standout selection.
Arsenal’s resurgence in recent weeks has been remarkable but now Mikel Arteta’s side face their toughest test yet: taking on Liverpool at Anfield.
There is reason for some Arsenal optimism, however, going into this fixture. Liverpool have been showing signs of weakness in recent games, most notably in defence, conceding five in their last two outings against Brighton and West Ham.
And the Gunners can point to a strong away record. Since losing to Manchester City at the Etihad, Arsenal have not conceded a goal on the road in three games, picking up seven points in the process. Liverpool are still the stronger side, but I think the visitors, with their new found confidence and resilience, can earn a point.
