Arlie Shaban

Canadian poker-pro Arlie “Prince Pablo” Shaban has been having a good spring, and he has the livestream recordings to prove it! The Team PokerStars Pro just won big in the PokerStars Ontario ONSCOOP series with a red-hot run in which he earned himself thousands of dollars and emerged as the ONSCOOP (M) Leaderboard Champion.

There were three ONSCOOP leaderboards this year. One leaderboard each for the low-, medium-, and high-stakes events. Shaban’s leaderboard trophy came from his remarkable performance in the medium-stakes events.

This isn’t the first time Shaban has done well against the Ontario poker player pool. He also did well at last year’s ONSCOOP.

Leaderboard Victory

Shaban regularly streams his online poker sessions on his Twitch channel. As a result, viewers can go back and watch almost his entire ONSCOOP run.

Only the top nine finishers in each ONSCOOP event receive leaderboard points. However, Shaban still managed to score points in 11 of the 45 mid-stakes events he entered across the series.

That’s a hit rate of just under 25%.

Shaban won three of these events—the Event 5-M, a 6-Max progressive knock-out event; Event 13-M – $250 NLH Freezeout; and Event 10-M – $30 Razz. The last of these was his first-ever game of razz.

Even more impressive is the fact that, according to Shaban’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account, his only prep for the razz event was a two-minute voice message from fellow pro Patrick Tardif.

Shaban topped out the ONSCOOP (M) Leaderboard with 650 points, earning $1,000 and some kudos.

He held a substantial lead over “dclu98“, the second-place finisher who has 555 points from this year and two ONSCOOP titles from 2023.

“Dclu98” won $600 for their second-place finish.
