Timeform provide their three best bets at Bath on Monday…
“…a leading player off an unchanged mark and a race like this should be well within his capabilities.”
Timeform on Impulsive One
Impulsive One shaped encouragingly on debut, and he clearly knew much more for the run when showing improved form to finish second at Newmarket last month, for all that he proved no match for an above-average winner. He backed that up with an excellent second in a Windsor nursery last time, progressing again but just failing after being bumped close home. He is a leading player off an unchanged mark and a race like this should be well within his capabilities.
Chil Chil progressed well last season, winning three of her last four races, and after shaping as though in need of the run on her reappearance, she regained the winning thread in good style at Ascot last month, scoring in the style of one that’ll prove up to listed or even minor pattern races. She disappointed from 9 lb higher at Salisbury last time, but the softer ground could perhaps be an excuse, and considering that was the first time in her last seven races she hasn’t at least hit the frame, she is well worth chancing to bounce back to her best.
Union Rose certainly has his quirks and isn’t one to trust implicitly, but he returned to form in no uncertain terms when winning at Sandown last time, the time and sectionals he produced pointing to a good performance as he landed the race for the second year running. He looks well-in quickly turned out under a penalty and makes plenty of appeal as he bids for a quick-fire double.
