freiburg_nets_6_goals_in_first_half_of_match_vs_gladbachOn Sunday, December 5th, 2021 S. C. Freiburg stunned Borussia Monchengladbach by incredibly scoring 6 – goals within just the 1st – half of the match. This is the biggest win of all – time for S. C. Freiburg in Bundesliga League match play.

This victory for Freiburg snapped a 3 – game losing streak, and the goals scored were spread around their football club as 6 different players scored a goal for Freiburg in their routing of Borussia Monchengladbach last Sunday.

S. C. Freiburg has not defeated Borussia Monchengladbach on the road in Bundesliga League play over their last 17 – attempts at doing so. The last time Freiburg defeated Gladbach on the road in a Bundesliga League contest was in 1995 when they won by the much lesser margin of 2 to 1.

Maximilian Eggestein began the scoring onslaught during just the 2nd – minute of this match. Kevin Schade scored next in the 4th – minute of the blowout contest. Philipp Lienhart scored a goal in the 12th – minute to make it a 3 to 0 score very early on, but Freiburg was only getting started.

Nicolas Höfler booted in the 4th – goal of the match during the 19 – minute of the match. Followed up by Höfler setting up Lucas Höler for the 5th – goal of the game in the 25th – minute of Bundesliga League action last Sunday.

In attempt to change the luck of the match the head coach of Borussia Monchengladbach, Adi Hütter, tried to make in – game adjustments by substituting 2 – players on his team at approximately a half an hour in to the contest which seemed to be all but over at that point anyways.

The goalkeeper of S. C. Freiburg, Mark Flekken, turned away any danger of scoring from both Marcus Thuram and Dennis Zakaria just prior to Vincenzo Grifo setting up Nico Schlotterbeck very nicely for the 6th and final goal of the game during the 37th – minute of match play last weekend.

Gladbach’s manager Hütter looked absolutely shocked on his sideline whereas the Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director, Max Eberl, sat there with his head bowed in astonishment as he just stared at the ground wondering what had happened to his football club on that crazy day of German soccer.
