Station Casinos is looking to expand its footprint in the Las Vegas valley, with a proposed 600-room hotel and casino in the west Henderson Area. The City Council approved Tuesday a sale of just under four acres of city property at Bicentennial Parkway and Via Inspirada, for close to $2 million.
The company plans to build a new resort that will resemble the Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch Resorts, named “Inspirada Station.” The sale agreement is with a company called NP Inspirada LLC, an affiliate of Station Casinos’ parent company.
The resort will feature 80,000 square feet of casino space, 600 hotel rooms, four restaurants, an 11-unit food hall, a bowling alley and a movie theater. Station Casinos would build the resort in three phases. Construction would begin in January 2024, and opening is slated to take place in March 2025.
The company already owns about 50 acres for this project. In its packet, Station Casinos said the city property is necessary for the potential construction of a parking garage in the future, according to News 3 LV.
Station Casinos is currently building Durango, a new resort in the southwest valley that is expected to open next year. Executives have said they want to double the portfolio by 2030, but they would not start building any future properties until Durango was up and running.
Construction moves forward on Durango resort
Two major projects in Henderson will be moving forward following city council votes. In addition to the aforementioned city property sale, the city of Henderson is purchasing the land off of Lake Mead parkway, where the now-demolished Fiesta Henderson Casino and Hotel used to sit.
City council members approved using $32 million to close the deal with Station Casinos on the 35-acre plot of land. The city plans to build an indoor multisport facility for youth sports.
Henderson’s director of economic development and tourism, Jared Smith, said that the city is going to go into a planning process, which will help them determine not only what the facility needs to look and feel like, “but what else is going to go on that property”.
Smith said within the project they also want to replace some of the amenities that were lost when Fiesta shut down. “We’d love to see restaurants pop up and shopping, which would be great for the people there in the sports facility as well as residents downtown and the east side,” he said.
