Kyler Murray and Kliff Kingsbury talking

1. Cardinals (3): Are they unequivocally the top team in the league? Hard to say, but it’s not like anyone else has an airtight claim. What Arizona does have is the NFL’s best record (8-1) and a proclivity for overcoming adversity, whether it’s coach Kliff Kingsbury and others benched by COVID-19, or injuries sidelining QB Kyler Murray (ankle), WR DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring), RB Chase Edmonds (ankle), and DE J.J. Watt (shoulder), who might still return at some point. And OLB Chandler Jones, who dealt with the virus himself, also appears back on track, registering his first sack Sunday since notching five in Week 1 to become the franchise’s all-time leader (67). Yep, let’s call the Cards the best … at least for now.

  • Week 11 of the NFL season got underway with Thursday’s New England Patriots-Atlanta Falcons game
  • Which betting line has moved the most since opening? What’s the smallest spread of the week?
  • All of the wagering information on every NFL game is listed below

We’re into double digits in terms of the number of weeks played during the NFL season, and that means the betting lines aren’t the only place where movement is in need of watching.

It’s time for teams to make their moves in the standings, and for the pretenders to step aside and allow the contenders to get down to the business of qualifying for the NFL postseason.

Will Kyler Murray be back from his ankle injury and in at quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals as they face the Seattle Seahawks? In his second start back from his own finger injury absence, will Seahawks QB Russell Wilson be back to his old self, and not the guy who pitched a shutout last week in Green Bay?

Speaking of old, has Father Time finally called Tom Brady’s number? The defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers have lost two in a row. At the start of the season, if someone was willing to bet that Brady’s old team would be looking more dangerous right now than his current team, you’d have rushed to get a piece of that action.

Well, don’t look now, but you could probably have gotten 28-3 odds that the New England Patriots would beat the Falcons in Atlanta on Thursday.

Which games are looking to be the biggest movers and shakers in NFL Week 11 line movement?

Let’s look at that. First, though, check out how the NFL betting lines are moving for Week 11.

NFL Betting Trends Backing Browns Bounceback

Is there a wackier division than the AFC North? It’s like nobody wants to win it.

The Browns are the last of the four in the division to be facing the 0-8-1 Detroit Lions. Astonishingly, the Lions have proven to be trouble for AFC North squads.

Oh, the Cincinnati Bengals crushed them 34-11. But Detroit held Pittsburgh to a 16-16 tie last week, and Baltimore needed a last-play, NFL-record 66-yard field goal to beat the Lions 19-17.

Coming off a 45-7 pasting from the Patriots, oddsmakers and bettors alike are all over a big bounceback performance from the Browns. Cleveland opened as the 10-point choice. It’s since grown to Browns 11.5, and that’s the biggest spread move of Week 11.

Cardinals-Seahawks Total Shortening

Murray is saying that he’s pretty close to returning from his ankle injury. Evidently, pretty close doesn’t count for much when it comes to NFL total wagering.

The line on the total for this Seahawks-Cardinals game opened at a healthy 50.5 points. It’s since shortened to 47.5 points.

Perhaps the 39.4 passer rating posted by Wilson is his return last week is also playing a role in what is the biggest total move of Week 11.

Raiders Of The Lost Cause

The absolute mess that also masquerades as the Las Vegas Raiders is in such a state, the line on their game with the Cincinnati Bengals was off the board to open Week 11.

Deciphering the Bengals is equally unnerving. In their last four games, Cincy scored 34 on the Lions and 41 on the Ravens. Then in back-to-back losses, the Bengals surrendered 34 to the New York Jets and 41 to the Browns.

Coming off their bye week, the Bengals are now the 1-point chalk. That’s the smallest spread for Week 11.

Super Bowl Outsiders

The Browns and Lions are the only NFL teams who’ve been eligible to go to every Super Bowl game that have never played in a Super Bowl game. In 1957, Detroit won its most recent NFL championship by beating Cleveland.

That information, plus a quarter, will get you about 12 minutes on a parking meter. Oh, by the way, Cleveland as an 11-point pick over Detroit is the largest spread of Week 11. Some other tidbits that might come in handy? The Lions are 2-1 this season against the spread as a double-digit point underdog. They’re also 2-1 ATS against AFC North clubs.

Oddsmakers Aren’t Figuring Newton’s Legit

The Washington Football Team just beat the Super Bowl champs. In the second coming of Cam Newton, the Carolina Panthers whipped the Cardinals, who were the NFL’s last unbeaten team this season.

Evidently, those who set betting lines for a living are thinking these offensive explosions were fool’s good. They’ve set the smallest total of the week on the Carolina-Washington game at 43 points.

Bills Like To Win Big

This season, 6-3 Buffalo is 5-1 against teams without winning records. Indianapolis (5-5) is 0-4 against teams with winning records. Each of the Bills’ last 13 victories were by double-digit margins.

Buffalo and Indy are assigned the week’s largest total at 50.5 points. The over is 2-0 this season in Bills games this season when the total is 50 points or higher.
