Oregon Betting Outlook

Senior guard Jacob Young scored a season-high 23 points on 11-of-18 shooting to lead Oregon to the upset of UCLA. The Ducks, though, are just 5-11 against the spread this season, 1-2 on the road.

Young is second on the team in scoring after transferring from Rutgers with an average of 11.3 points a game. He has reached double figures in five straight games.

Six of Young’s points came in overtime after Oregon squandered a six-point lead in the final 37 seconds of regulation.

Young was one of six Oregon players to score in double figures. Senior guard Will Richardson had 16 points, giving him seven consecutive double-digit games.

Richardson has averages of 13.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists. He is also shooting 42.3% from three-point range.

Junior center N’Faly Dante finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, junior forward Quincy Guerrier contributed 11 points, six rebounds and three steals, senior forward Eric Williams Jr. had 10 points and eight rebounds and junior guard De’Vion Harmon chipped in with 10 points to hit his season average.

Oregon is 31st in the nation in KenPom’s adjusted offensive efficiency with 112.9 points per 100 possessions.

Guerrier had just his third double-figure scoring game of the season while Harmon has reached double digits in three games in a row for the first time in 2021-22. Williams made just 3-of-16 shots from the floor.

Oregon played good defense, holding UCLA to 39.7% (29 of 73) shooting in coach Dana Altman’s 700th career victory. The Bruins were just 7-of-28 (25%) on three-pointers.

USC Betting Outlook

After falling behind 10 points in the second half and not taking its first lead until 10:33 remaining, USC rallied to beat Oregon State and avoid its first losing streak of the season.

The Trojans are 8-7 ATS, including 3-4 at the Galen Center, after scoring the game’s final 11 points over 3:55 to erase a 71-70 deficit.

Senior forward Chevez Goodwin led USC with 20 points and 12 rebounds. It was Goodwin’s first double-double of the season and third game with at least 20 points.

Goodwin is sixth in the nation with his 64.2% field goal percentage. He is also averaging 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds.

Junior guard Drew Peterson continued his fine all-round season as he finished with a season-high 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists. His season averages are 11.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

Peterson also scored the 1,000th point of his career. Peterson played two seasons at Rice before transferring to USC prior to last season.

Junior guard Boogie Ellis had 14 points, slightly surpassing his 12.2 average.

Junior forward Isaiah Mobley filled the stat columns with 11 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four blocked shots. He is averaging 15.1 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists.

USC won despite Oregon State shooting 52.9% (9-of-17) from beyond the arc.

The Trojans are 23rd in the county in adjusted defensive efficiency (93.6) and 25th in adjusted offensive efficiency (93.6).

Oregon vs USC Prediction

USC has won six of the last eight matchups, including beating Oregon 82-68 in the Sweet Sixteen of last year’s NCAA Tournament played in the Indianapolis bubble. Mobley had 13 points and six rebounds for the Trojans.

Oregon has found its footing after a rocky start to the season. While the Ducks may not get revenge and upend the Trojans, they should keep things close.
