The shackles are off and PokerStars is taking advantage of dwindling COVID restrictions by announcing a new series of tournaments, including the return of the Players Championship.

Following a successful first outing of the year in Prague, PokerStars has confirmed that it will return to the Czech capital in December. However, before the pre-Christmas festivities in Prague, the tournament bandwagon will pitch up in Monte Carlo.

EPT Monte Carlo will run from April 28 to May 7, and precede EPT Barcelona, which gets underway on August 8. Running in tandem with these EPTs will be a series of regional events, including UKIPT Dublin and the Summer Poker Festival in Malta.

National and regional events for all bankrolls

PokerStars’ tournament team will parlay its first full year back out on the road with a trip to the Bahamas in 2023. Baha Mar Resort will host the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) between January 22 and February 3.

As well as a $5,300 main event and a selection of additional tournaments, the 2023 PCA will also feature the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC). One of the largest live events of the year, the Players Championship will return on January 30 after a two-year hiatus.

The PSPC buy-in hasn’t been announced, but we know from previous years that it costs $25,000 to enter. For those that can’t afford to buy in directly, PokerStars’ Severin Rasset has confirmed that the Platinum Pass promotion will return.

PokerStars packs its 2022/2023 schedule

Details of the new Platinum Pass qualifiers will be announced in due course. Before that, satellites for this year’s live events are already available for less than $2.

For those interested in using PokerStars’ dot.com network to win their way into a live event, the 2022/2023 schedule looks like this:

  • April 28–May 7: PokerStars European Poker Tour presented by Monte-Carlo Casino
  • May 16-22: UKIPT Dublin at the Bonnington Hotel
  • June 18-26: ESPT/UKIPT Summer Poker Festival Malta at the Intercontinental Hotel
  • August 8-21: EPT Barcelona at Casino Barcelona
  • December 7-18: EPT Prague at King’s Casino
  • January 22 – February 3, 2023: PokerStars Caribbean Adventure at Baha Mar

More events may be added to the 2022/2023 schedule, but the ones listed above are confirmed. Of course, as the last two years have taught us, anything can happen.

However, after a long period of restrictions and online alternatives, PokerStars’ tournament team is taking full advantage of being able to host live events around the world.
