Nine players from all corners of the world have a week to get to Rozvadov to play for $1.5 million and a chance at the world title.
674 players have become nine in the first of two World Series of Poker Main Event online legs.
The International leg played on GGPoker concluded in the early hours of the morning with nine players from all over the world still in the hunt. The US leg gets underway this Sunday at WSOP.com.
Brunno Botteon of Brazil leads the way, with players from Portgual, Argentina, China, Liechtenstein, Austria, Spain, Lithuania and Bulgaria still in the hunt.
They will now have a week to make their way to King’s Casino in Rozvadov, where they will play down to a winner on December 15. The champion of this event will then head to Las Vegas to play the winner of the US leg on December 30 for $1 million and the Main Event bracelet.

Everyone has secured $75,359 on their way to the final table and two of the finalists will walk away from the event millionaires.

The biggest sweat of all has now begun and it is simply whether all nine finalists can make their way to Rozvadov admidst the travel restrictions caused by a global lockdown. Then of course there is the small matter of whether they will test postive for COVID-19 before they get there.
