Timeform on Count D’Orsay
Count D’Orsay bounced back to his best on soft ground at Haydock last month, picking up well when asked and willingly toughing it out to open his account for the season. He ran at least as well in defeat at over the same course and distance last time, producing a cracking effort on firmer ground, coming clear with another at the top of its game. He held his form superbly last year and is starting to do the same of late, so he is sure to remain of interest, particularly with the mud flying.
Having slipped in the weights due to some disappointing efforts this term, Obee Joe took advantage of his reduced mark to regain the winning thread at Redcar last month, aided by racing on the favoured stand-side rail but never really looking in danger of being caught once he slipped through on the inside. A 4 lb rise seems fair for that win and a follow up bid looks to be firmly on the cards.
After dead-heating for first at Lingfield early last month, Mr Millarcky showed improved form to win outright at Leicester just five days on, proving himself to be generally progressive since going handicapping, and he didn’t need to improve on that effort to bring up the hat-trick back at Lingfield last time, again scoring by a narrow margin but showing a willing attitude. He is now 6 lb higher in the weights but still looks the one to beat and gets the vote to land the four-timer.
