Timeform provide their three best bets at Sandown on Wednesday…

“He appeals strongly as the type to keep getting better with racing…”

Timeform on Dublin Pharaoh

Summit Fever – 14:15 Sandown

Summit Fever still looked very much a work in progress after running green on his second outing, but he has showed much improved form since then, getting off the mark in good style at Lingfield, before shaping as if in similar form at Chelmsford on his handicap debut last time. In fact, he was a little unlucky not to have finished closer than he did on the latter occasion, not seen to best effect from the widest draw of all, and he looks well worth another chance from a potentially lenient mark.

Sparkling Olly – 16:30 Sandown

The quick turnaround probably didn’t do Sparkling Olly any favours when she finished third at Newmarket last time, but she still shaped well and went a long way to confirming the winning form she had shown on her debut for Ralph Beckett at Chepstow previously. Sparkling Olly has made great strides since switching to the Beckett yard, and there is every chance she is yet to finish improving, so she boasts leading claims in her bid to regain the winning thread.

Dublin Pharaoh – 17:00 Sandown

Dublin Pharaoh was strong in the betting when getting off the mark at the third attempt at Lingfield back in February, taking a little while to hit his stride but quite impressive once in full flow. He couldn’t repeat that feat in what proved a fairly useful handicap at Newmarket last time, not seen to best effect but still shaping as if retaining his ability after seven months off. He appeals strongly as the type to keep getting better with racing and he is likely to prove fully effective over this trip before long.
