Winning Poker Network Logo

One of the most prestigious online poker tournaments, the $2,650-buyin VENOM, starts tomorrow, April 14, 2024, at ACR Poker. It can also be accessed through ACR’s sister sites on the Winning Poker Network, including BlackChip Poker, True Poker, and Ya Poker. Though it is but a single tournament, the VENOM guarantees $12.5 million in prizes – an amount that is more usually associated with entire tournament series than one solitary event. The Venom is thus worthy of your attention even if you’re usually a cash game or sit-n-go player.

The VENOM starts tomorrow at ACR Poker with $12.5 million guaranteed – don't miss out!

VENOM Information

Blue Information Button

There are a few aspects to the VENOM that distinguish it from most other online poker tournaments. We’ve already touched upon one of them: the $12.5 million guaranteed prize pool. Of course, in order to generate such a prize pool, the VENOM requires a large level of participation. To meet its ambitious guarantee, it requires 5,000 buyins at $2,500 + $1250 apiece. Therefore, the field will be massive, much larger than most poker tourneys.

Driving up participation is the fact that there are five starting days. Besides Day 1A on Sunday, April 14, these are the other days on which competitors can join:

  • Day 1B: Thursday, April 18
  • Day 1C: Sunday, April 21
  • Day 1D: Thursday, April 25
  • Day 1E: Sunday, April 28

All surviving players from the five starting days will reconvene on Monday, April 29 for Day 2 of play. Day 3 occurs the next day, Tuesday, April 30. Then the final table will play down to its conclusion on Wednesday, May 1.

The record guarantee – $2.5 million more than any previous tournament on the Winning Poker Network – promises to reward multiple competitors with prizes greater than $1 million. Will you be one of them? There’s only one way to find out: by taking your seat in the VENOM and outplaying your opponents on your way to victory!

Still Possible to Satellite Your Way In

Satellite Structure

If you’re ready to pay $2,650, then you can take your seat in the VENOM tomorrow. If you can’t quite scrape together the funds for a full buyin, then you can attempt to score your seat for less via the numerous qualifiers that ACRPoker is running. Remember, the final starting day is Sunday, April 28, so you still have about two weeks to earn your seat before it’s too late.

The Beast + SnC Leaderboard Satellites

Though the time has passed for winning a satellite entry via the Beast and Sit & Crush weekly leaderboards, you can still buy in directly to a couple of these qualifiers for $95. There are two remaining: one at 6:05 p.m. ET on April 14 that guarantees 40 VENOM entries and another at 6:05 p.m. ET on April 21 that will hand out 50 seats.

Venom Fever Madness

There’s a multi-flight tournament running from April 14 to 27 that will award 15 $2,650 tickets. You can enter any starting flight, which are spaced two hours apart every day from 8:05 a.m. to 10:05 p.m. ET. On April 27, however, there are only two flights: one at 6:05 a.m. and the other at 8:05 am. ET.

Everyone who survives their first day of play will gather on Saturday, April 27 at 2:05 p.m. ET to play Day 2. The top 15 will walk away with coveted VENOM entries.

MEGA Satellites

There are 10 Venom MEGA satellites remaining. They will run every Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET from now till April 28. Each of them is good for between 10 and 60 seats depending on the buyin.

Those buyin levels are: $55, $109, $290, and $630. These are still pretty substantial investments to make for a qualifier tournament, but you can gain entry to the MEGA of your choice through a series of sub-satellites. There are three preliminary stages leading up to each MEGA, and the lowest of them consist of freerolls, letting you potentially parlay $0 into a valuable $2,650 VENOM entry.

VENOM Direct Satellites

Of course, the easiest way to proceed is by entering tournaments that award VENOM seats directly. There are more than 120 such satties remaining, and some of them are even scheduled to run after the final VENOM starting day has begun because there’s a lengthy late registration period, which permits last-minute entries by satellite winners.

In all, more than 450 VENOM tickets stand to be claimed through these tournaments. You don’t need to necessarily break the bank to enter them because the buyins run as low as $33.

Steps

If you like to progress steadily toward a goal, then step satellites may be for you. There are two kinds now running for the VENOM:

  • All-in Or Fold four-player SNGs with six total steps: $1.10, $4, $15, $55, $200, $750
  • Regular eight-player SNGs with four total steps: $1.35, $9, $60, $400
