With the NFL regular season starting to wind down—how are we already into Week 14 of the 2021 NFL season?—we need to take advantage of NFL player prop betting over the final few weeks. The NFL props available for Sunday of Week 14 are a little limited, with four teams on bye and a handful of injuries preventing certain lines from opening at sportsbooks, but there are still too many available for online sportsbooks to watch them all closely.

What I’m saying here is there are still bad lines out there and we need to pounce. I went 6-5 in my last outing, which was Week 12, winning 1.64 units. I’m now +4.32 units in my last eight weeks. I have 11 player props for Sunday of Week 14 that I love!

You’ll find my picks below in each section, as well as all the lines for each set of NFL player props.

Tom Brady owns the highest passing line of the week at 310.5. His Buccaneers take on the Bills, where Josh Allen has the second-highest total of the week at 296.5. Cam Newton and Taysom Hill are tied for the lowest at 191.5.

Best Passing Props to Bet for Week 14

1) Trevor Lawrence OVER 215.5 Passing Yards (-113); risk 1 unit

I have to believe this line was set and is still available because no one wants to pay any attention to the Jaguars vs Titans game. I can’t blame anyone for that. But I am going to take advantage of the opportunity this is presenting.

Trevor Lawrence threw for 273 yards when these two teams met in Week 5. He has not been great lately, only averaging 162.2 passing yards per game over his last five. However, those games have come against some pretty good pass defenses:

  • Buffalo – allowed the fewest passing yards in the league
  • Indianapolis – rank 12th vs the pass
  • San Francisco – rank 4th against the pass
  • Atlanta – rank 18th vs the pass (Lawrence did throw for 228 in this one)
  • Los Angeles Rams – rank 16th vs the pass

Even with the handful of rough outings for Lawrence lately, he has still gone over this total in six of 12 games this season.

Tennessee, on the other hand, ranks 26th against the pass and have only held two quarterbacks under this total: (1) Carson Wentz, and (2) Tyrod Taylor in the pouring rain when he didn’t need to pass because Houston was up all game. Sunday is supposed to be sunny and clear in Nashville.

2) Taysom Hill OVER 191.5 Passing Yards (-115); risk 0.5 units

The public is so negative on Taysom Hill after he threw four interceptions in his first start of the season, which came in Week 13 against the Cowboys. What not enough people are remembering is that he suffered through a torn tendon in his middle finger for basically the entire game.

Is Hill the next great pocket passer? No! But he is in too good of an offense for a line this low. In Hill’s four starts last year, he threw for 233, 78 (vs the Kendall Hinton-led Broncos), 232, and 291 yards. He also threw for 264 yards last week, though 70 yards came on a garbage time dump underneath to Deonte Harris that he took to the house.

The Jets rank 29th against the pass, and though they’re also terrible against the run, Sean Payton knows he needs to get his quarterback comfortable and in a groove as his Saints make their push to get into the playoffs. This is the perfect game for that.

Though he’s missed practice all week, Joe Mixon still has the highest rushing total of the week at 76.5. He’s the only player with a line greater than 70. Alvin Kamara is the next highest at 69.5.

Best Rushing Props to Bet for Week 14

1) Cam Newton OVER 30.5 Rushing Yards (-115); risk 1 unit

Sportsbooks are not reading into the Joe Brady firing enough. In Carolina’s last game, Cam Newton only had five rushing yards on three attempts. Joe Brady has proven he knows passing—the dude had Sam Darnold in the NFL MVP discussion through the first three weeks of the season—but was ultimately fired because he wouldn’t commit to running the ball enough.

Even with Brady calling plays in Cam Newton’s first start, the QB had 46 yards on ten attempts. What do you think Jeff Nixon, who called plays for Matt Rhule at Baylor from 2017-19, is going to do on Sunday? I’m sure you would have guessed that Baylor had a near 50-50 split between running and passing in those years, with one of the years having more rushing attempts than passing.

2) Antonio Gibson OVER 66.5 Rushing Yards (-113); risk 0.5 units

In his last four games, Antonio Gibson has averaged 89.5 rushing yards and 23.8 carries per game. Here’s what his stat lines have looked like:

  • vs Tampa Bay (allowed second-fewest rushing yards and just 4.2 yards per carry, which ranks eighth): 24 carries for 64 yards
  • at Carolina (allow 4.1 YPC, ranking 13th): 19 carries for 95 yards
  • vs Seattle (allow 3.9 YPC, ranking third): 29 carries for 111 yards
  • at Las Vegas (allow 4.3 YPC, ranking 18th): 23 carries for 88 yards

The best part of the above is that all four of those games resulted in wins for Washington. Ron Rivera has committed to giving Gibson a ton of touches and he’s winning when he does. (To be clear, I am not a “run the ball” kind of guy, but am confident Rivera has made the correlation.) The team is now 3-0 when Gibson receives more than 20 carries.

Dallas is the worst run defense Gibson will have seen in a while, as the Cowboys surrender 4.5 yards per carry, ninth-worst in the league. They have also allowed more than 100 rushing yards in each of their last seven games and eight of their last nine.

Best Receiving Props to Bet for Week 14

1) Rob Gronkowski OVER 49.5 Receiving Yards (-115); risk 1 unit

After hitting the over (by a mile) on Rob Gronkowski’s Week 12 receiving line, I figured that was the last time I’d be able to make that bet this season. However, here we are. Sportsbooks are still setting wildly low receiving lines for Gronk.

Outside of Tampa Bay’s Week 2 smashing of Atlanta and their Week 8 clash with the Saints, where Gronk only played six snaps before getting hurt, the tight end has gone over this total in every other game. Even with those two games, he’s averaging 62.3 receiving yards per game. If you remove them, he jumps up to 79.4 yards per game.

He now prepares to take on the Bills in Week 14, and the Buffalo vs Tampa Bay total is set at 54, the highest game total of the week. DraftKings Sportsbook at least has his line set at a somewhat more reasonable 52.5. FanDuel is nuts for this line.

2) Laquon Treadwell OVER 33.5 Receiving Yards (-113); risk 0.5 units

The former first-round pick from the 2016 NFL Draft had not played in more than 35% of Jacksonville’s offensive snaps in any game prior to Week 11. Since then, he has played in 72%, 86%, and 93% of their offensive snaps. In those three games, he has seen three, eight, and five targets, respectively, turning them into 11, 53, and 62 yards.

It’s clear Treadwell is getting more and more involved and becoming a trusted target for Trevor Lawrence. As I discussed above, Tennessee is terrible against the pass. This line is too low for a player heating up the way Treadwell is.

With Jonathan Taylor on bye, Dalvin Cook already having played Thursday, and Derrick Henry still on the IR, a pair of Broncos running backs, Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon, are tied with Alvin Kamara for the best odds to score a touchdown on Sunday of Week 14. Their odds are listed at -175. Add Austin Ekeler’s name to the mix and you have a four-way tie at +400 for the best odds to score their respective game’s first touchdown.

Anytime Touchdown Picks for Week 14

Here’s who to target to find the end zone and why:

  1. Taysom Hill anytime touchdown (+170): While I do believe Sean Payton will push Hill to throw this week, I don’t think he will in the red zone. This is as short as +150 at other sportsbooks. (0.33 units)
  2. Cam Newton anytime touchdown (+125): Cam has a rushing touchdown in each game this season. We shouldn’t be getting plus odds here anymore, especially with Matt Rhule firing Joe Brady. (0.75 units)
  3. CeeDee Lamb anytime touchdown (+125): Washington has allowed 26 passing touchdowns this season, the most in the league. They do not have anyone who can cover Lamb. (0.25 units)
  4. Stefon Diggs anytime touchdown (+125): Diggs has a touchdown in three of his last four and five of his last six. Tampa Bay has given up 21 passing touchdowns this season, 24th in the NFL. He’s also as short as -105 at some sportsbooks. Bet this line at DraftKings while you can. (0.25 units)
  5. Deebo Samuel anytime touchdown (+120): if he plays, we probably see him lead the 49ers backfield with Elijah Mitchell out. If he doesn’t, you get your money back. This line is far too short for the lead back in a Kyle Shanahan rushing attack. (0.5 units)
