Grosvenor Casino Merchant City is set to be packed to the rafters between March 12-22 when 888poker LIVE heads into the city for the second leg of its 2026 tour. Among its many events, the 888poker LIVE Glasgow schedule features an £888 buy-in Main Event that boasts a £250,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Edinburgh is usually the go-to city whenever a major poker festival heads to Bonny Scotland, but 888poker LIVE is returning to Glasgow for the second consecutive year following an exciting debut in 2025. In March 2025, all but two of the 888poker LIVE Glasgow tournaments smashed their guarantees, including the Main Event, which generated a £309,320 prize pool, £59,320 over the advertised guarantee.

The 2026 edition of 888poker LIVE Glasgow bursts into action at noon on March 12, with the first of four flights in the £250 No-Limit Hold’em Crazy 8 Opening Event. This event carries a £50,000 guarantee on its prize pool. Last time out, Majid Iqbal left 226 opponents in his wake as he got his hands on £10,130 of the £52,630 prize pool.

Tournaments such as the £250 buy-in, £100,000 guaranteed Mini Main (March 15-17), £1,500 buy-in, £100,000 guaranteed No-Limit Hold’em High Roller (March 18-19), and the £340 buy-in, £30,000 guaranteed Dragon (March 21-22) complement the eagerly anticipated 888poker LIVE Glasgow Main Event.

£250,000 Guaranteed 888poker LIVE Glasgow Main Event

Without doubt, the £250,000 guaranteed 888poker LIVE Glasgow Main Event is the highlight of the schedule. It commands a £888 buy-in, unless players manage to win a cut-price seat from the plentiful live satellites at Grosvenor Casino Merchant City, or online at 888poker.

The Main Event features four flights, the first of which commences at 1:00 p.m. GMT on March 19. Day 1b begins at 12:00 p.m. GMT on March 20, with a turbo-structured Day 1c scheduled for 8:00 p.m. GMT on the same day. March 21 at 11:00 a.m. GMT is when Day 1d shuffles up and deals, players’ final chance to get in on the action, although late entry is permitted up to the start of Day 2 (5:00 p.m. GMT on March 21).

Day 1a and Day 1b play to a 40-minute clock, with the two turbo-structured flights featuring 20-minute blinds. Unlimited re-entries are permitted during the first 14 levels. Day 2’s levels are all 40 minutes, with the third and final day extending to 60 minutes.

Last year, Dean Lyall emerged victoriously from the 888poker LIVE Glasgow Main Event. A predominantly Scottish field of 407 entrants created a guarantee-busting £309,320 prize pool that the top 50 finishers shared.

The likes of Robbie Bull, Matthew Davenport, Mariusz Czech, 888poker ambassador Vivian Saliba, and cash game specialist Bryan Taylor all finished inside the money places, but fell short of a final table seat.

Each of the nine finalists won at least £5,780 for their efforts, with six earning five-figure scores. However, the tournament belonged to Lyall, who defeated Daniel Johnson heads-up and scooped the £58,130 top prize.
