The XL Winter Series is set to wrap up on January 27 when the $250 buy-in, $500,000 guaranteed Rakeless Mystery Bounty Main Event crowns its champion. While there is still plenty of poker to be played before a champion emerges, there’s a decent chance that 888poker Stream Team member Leo “KaizenStyle” Jokura will be in the mix when the big bucks are handed out.

Jokura thrived on his chosen Day 1, turning his 10,000 starting stack into 254,743, meaning he sits down on Day 2 with the equivalent of 102 big blinds. Only two players have, so far, bagged and tagged larger stacks than the Brazilian 888poker representative: Germany’s “FBarbarotto” is the current chip leader with 268,168 chips, while high stakes regular “9salute46” of Ireland occupies second-place with a stack of 264,994.

At the time of writing, the $500,000 guaranteed Rakeless Mystery Bounty Main Event has seen 1,270 players buy in, but only 142 progress to Day 2 on January 26. 888poker requires a total of 2,000 entries to hit the half-million guarantee, with every cent of the $250 buy-in going into the prize pool.

Six more Day 1s run between January 23 and January 25, with the final flight shuffling up and dealing at 10:00 p.m. GMT. Day 2 commences at 9:30 p.m. GMT on January 26 with the mystery bounties in play from the start. Two of those bounties are worth $10,000 each, another brace is worth $15,000, and the jackpot bounty awards a cool $50,000.
