AGEM Index rises 51.64 points in April despite annual decline

The AGEM Index gained ground in April 2026, rising 51.64 points from the previous month to reach 1,523.84, representing a 3.5% monthly increase. The improvement came as five of the nine companies in the index recorded stock price gains, producing six positive contributions and three negative contributions to the overall index.

The monthly increase occurred alongside gains across major U.S. equity markets. The NASDAQ rose 15.3% during April, while the S&P 500 gained 10.4%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also increased, improving 7.1% from the prior month.

Despite the April gain, the AGEM Index remained lower on a year-over-year basis. Compared with the same period a year earlier, the index declined by 218.45 points, or 12.5%.

Aristocrat Leisure Limited was the largest positive contributor to the April index performance. Its stock price rose by 4.3%, adding 53.53 points to the AGEM Index. Crane NXT, Co. also contributed positively, with a 10.1% increase in its stock price, resulting in a 7.93-point gain for the index.

Konami Corp. recorded the largest negative contribution during the month. Its stock price fell by 2.2%, reducing the index by 6.24 points.

The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers produces the monthly AGEM Index, which includes nine global gaming suppliers. Five of the companies are based in the United States and are listed on the NYSE, Nasdaq, or OTC market. Three companies trade on the Australian exchange, while one trades on the Tokyo exchange.

The AGEM Index is calculated using the month-end stock price of each company, adjusted for dividends and splits, and weighted based on an approximation of market capitalization. Market capitalizations for manufacturers trading on foreign exchanges are converted to U.S. dollar equivalents as of month-end for comparability. The index is based on a 100-point value as of January 2005.
