The Auburn Tigers find themselves in a very familiar position this afternoon: With their backs up against the wall trying to stave off elimination. Auburn dropped Game 1 of their Super Regionals series last night to visiting Ole Miss, and now need a win today to keep their College World Series dreams alive.

Prediction Market Kalshi likes their chances, pegging the Tigers as a 61-cent favorite to emerge victorious. I’m in line with the market when it comes to picking a side, as I’m counting on their superior pitching and more balanced attack at the plate to help them prevail.

Below, you’ll find the latest Auburn vs Ole Miss odds, plus my favorite picks and best bets for the June 6th showdown.

Kalshi assigning the Tigers a 61-cent price today is the equivalent of -156 odds in traditional sports betting terms. On the surface that may seem steep, but there are a lot of things to like about this Auburn team.

For starters their pitching staff is fantastic. The Tigers rank sixth in the nation in ERA, second in WHIP and fourth in SIERA. They’ll give the ball to Jake Marciano, who’s entering play in excellent form.

As for their lineup, they have an excellent combination of contact and power hitters, ranking top-60 in both batting average and home runs.

Auburn also has plenty of experience playing elimination games, after making it to this point by navigating the losers’ bracket at its Regionals. They dropped their opener to Milwaukee, before rallying to win four straight elimination games, including extracting some revenge over the Panthers in the decisive game to reach the Super Regionals.

Marciano was on the bump for their most recent elimination contest, and threw four strong innings of 2 run ball. That marked the third time in his last four starts that he’s yielded two runs or less, and the sophomore hasn’t allowed a walk in back-to-back outings.

Marciano boasts a season long 3.32 ERA and limits traffic on the basepaths effectively with a 1.08 WHIP. The key to shutting down the Rebels attack is limiting the long ball, as this is a lineup that is extremely boom or bust. Ole Miss ranks 20th in the nation in home runs this season, but is 226th in batting average Their power prowess was on display in Game 1, as they homered twice, accounting for four of their six runs. If Maciano can keep the ball in the yard, Ole Miss will struggle to put up enough runs to keep pace with Auburn.

As for the Rebels staff, they’re a top-25 unit in the country, led by likely 2026 first rounder Cade Townsend. The righty will be on the bump today, and brings a 98mph fastball and a variety of off-speed pitches to the table. Townsend will have his hands full however, with a deep Tigers lineup. Auburn has scored 8 or more times in five of their last six contests, pounding 44 hits and 14 home runs during that stretch.

The Tigers lineup is paced by five batters with an OPS north of .900, including catcher Chase Fralick. The 2027 prospect is slashing .316/.419/.654 this season, and anchors a terrifying top half of the lineup. Each of Auburn’s top-five hitters are batting .316 or higher, and all have the capability to break the game open with one swing of the bat.

The Tigers are seeking their first trip back to the College World Series since 2022, and I’m betting they keep their hopes alive and force a deciding Game 3. If you want to get a little more aggressive with your bankroll, consider parlaying their moneyline with over 10 runs for a +188 payout. Five of Auburn’s last six games have produced 10 runs or more, including Game 1 of the Super Regionals.
