Bede Gaming has obtained GLI-19 and GLI-33 certifications, adding to its existing compliance credentials as the platform solutions provider continues its push into regulated markets.

eCOGRA, an independent testing and certification authority for the gaming industry, tested and certified the two standards following a multi-month, cross-functional audit of Bede’s systems.

GLI-19 covers Interactive Gaming Systems, addressing player account management, platform security, operational controls and game integrations required for regulated online gaming.

Meanwhile, GLI-33 applies to Event Wagering Systems, setting out technical requirements for sportsbook and online betting operations.

The standards form part of a framework used to define best practices for interactive gaming and event wagering across markets including the UK, Denmark, Malta and British Columbia.

North American markets in focus

A number of US states have adopted the GLI framework as a required standard for iGaming operators, and Canadian provinces such as Alberta have introduced comparable requirements since opening their markets.

The certifications add to Bede’s existing ISO 27001 and WLA-SCS credentials, giving operators and regulators additional assurance regarding the company’s platform, processes and governance controls.

“We are delighted to have achieved certification to GLI-19 and GLI-33 with eCOGRA. Together with our existing ISO 27001 and WLA-SCS certifications, they provide absolute clarity on the maturity of our platform, processes, and governance controls,” said Gerrard Thompson, Head of Risk & Compliance at Bede Gaming.

“They indicate to both regulators and prospective new customers that our technology has been independently assessed against some of the most rigorous standards in the industry, and that Bede is ready to hit the ground running in an ever-expanding list of regulated markets,” said Thompson.

“This is especially important in North America, where regulatory expectations are high and speed to market matters. Our goal is to help operators launch with confidence, knowing that the platform behind them is proven, secure and built for regulated growth,” he added.

Compliance process involved cross-functional review

The certifications followed an audit process conducted over several months, involving multiple departments within the company. For operators, the credentials are intended to reduce friction during market entry by providing a documented technical foundation that can support regulatory engagement in jurisdictions relying on GLI standards.

“It was a pleasure working with the Bede Gaming team throughout the GLI-19 and GLI-33 certification process. Their commitment to quality and compliance was clear from the outset, and it’s great to see that work recognised with these certifications. We’d like to congratulate everyone involved and wish the team every success as they continue to grow in regulated markets,” said Aoife Nic Chuirc, Head of Sales at eCOGRA.
