The Men’s College World Series continues with a battle between the Oklahoma Sooners (38-22) and No. 7 Alabama Crimson Tide (42-19). Both Oklahoma and Alabama enter their first matchup in Omaha. The contest will be broadcast by ESPN at 3:00 PM ET from the iconic Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

Alabama and Oklahoma are down the pecking order in College World Series odds, placing sixth and seventh in either order, depending on the book. Georgia and North Carolina are co-favorites to win the College World Series, followed by Texas, West Virginia, and Ole Miss. Troy is eighth behind Oklahoma and Alabama.

Yesterday, North Carolina and West Virginia started their College World Series runs with wins over Ole Miss and Troy respectively. After Oklahoma and Alabama battle today, Texas and Georgia will engage in one of the best games of the season. The winners will play each other at 7:00 PM ET on Monday night while the losers will play in an elimination game at 2:00 PM ET on Monday.

Future top-10 MLB Draft pick Justin Lebron has led the Tide to one of its best seasons in school history. Lebron leads the team with 16 home runs and 41 steals. He is slashing .277/.386/.541 for a .927 OPS. Lefty Brady Neal is the biggest bopper in the squad, pitching in 15 doubles, 10 home runs, and a robust .328/.442/.562 triple-slash.

Oklahoma has three of their own bats with over 100 total bases and two more with 99. Deiten Lachance has been stellar this year, slashing .332/.406/.609 with 15 bombs. Brendan Brock (.903 OPS, 12 home runs) and Trey Gambill (.971 OPS, 10 home runs) have also been key sources of power. Brock is one of two Sooners with at least 27 steals, as well.

Both teams offer huge offensive upside. Oklahoma has outscored Alabama on the season, but Alabama’s pitching staff has a superior ERA by one run. Oklahoma

Originally a two seed in the Atlanta Regional, Oklahoma overcame an early loss to upset Georgia Tech in the final. Oklahoma beat The Citadel before taking two of three against the Yellow Jackets. In the Lawrence Super Regional, Oklahoma tattooed Kansas to the tune of 8-1 and 13-2 to clinch their spot in Omaha.

Alabama

This is Alabama’s sixth trip to Omaha. The Crimson Tide last made the championship series in 1999. Alabama has never won a national championship, with its best finishes coming as a runner-up in 1983 and 1997.

Oklahoma

Oklahoma is making its 12th trip to Omaha. Oklahoma last made the College World Series in 2022, finishing runner-up to Ole Miss. Oklahoma has won two natonal championships, winning in 1951 over Tennessee and 1994 over Georgia Tech.
