- We’ve got a full slate of MLB games on Saturday, May 16
- Any time this happens, it’s on us to find at least three guys we like to go yard and bet them
- See below for my three best home run plays for today
We did it! We made it to the weekend, and now we can do whatever the hell we want! That’s just how weekends work. We do all the grimy stuff that we have to do during the week, then we get to kick back and let the good times roll on Saturday and Sunday. It’s actually electric when you think about it.
Generally, what I like to do in a situation like this is find dinger bets. We’ve got an entire day/night slate of baseball, so it’s pretty easy to find three guys that we know for a fact are going yard. All we have to do is look for some good weather, bad pitching, and hard hitting. Lucky for us, I found three guys who check every single one of those boxes. We just have to bet them, and then wait for the cash to roll in. Feels easy.
Home Run Picks For Saturday (May 16)
Each one of the home run picks for today is at least +280, meaning if we bet the same amount on each player and one of them hit a dinger, we would profit.
Putting all three in a long-shot home run parlay at DraftKings generates +7547 odds.

Saturday Home Run Pick #1 – Kazuma Okamoto Will Start Us Off Right
We’re starting early today because why the hell not? These guys are out here laying it all on the line for us, so the least we can do is bet on them. We can’t have them out there playing for nothing. It just wouldn’t be right.
It also wouldn’t be right for us to pass up an opportunity to bet Kazuma Okamoto in a matchup with Casey Mize.
The tweekers are going to think we got into their stash since Okamoto hasn’t homered in eight games, but pay them no mind. Their brains are mush at the moment. Home runs are all about matchups, and Casey Mize has a four-seamer with Okamoto’s name all over it. It doesn’t even feel real, but Mize has a ridiculous .545 ISO on his four-seamer to right-handed batters this season. That’s video game stuff. Simply put, if you’re in the left-field bleachers today in Detroit, bring a glove. And maybe wear a helmet. Safety first. Feels right.
- The Bet: Kazuma Okamoto to Hit a Home Run (+388) – DraftKings
Saturday HR Pick #2 – Kyle Schwarber Hits Bombs
This feels like an NFL day since we’re going 1:00 pm ET game, 4:05 pm ET game, and then closing it out with a night game. Just a majestic strategy by us that will keep us busy all day long watching the dongs fly. People don’t do this enough. Shoutout us.
What makes it easy is seeing Kyle Schwarber in a dogfight with Bubba Chandler.
The haters are going to say we’re crazy because Kyle is on a legendary run right now. At some point, he has to stop hitting home runs. We know that’s stupid. Why in the hell would we fade a guy because he’s been doing incredible lately? Especially when it’s Kyle Schwarber facing Bubba Chandler.
I like Bubba Chandler. I really do. I’m sure he’s a fun hang and all-around great guy, but he definitely doesn’t have the precision to go after a guy like Schwarber. All it’s going to take is a ball left over the plate just a little bit, and Kyle will put it on the moon. We’ve seen it happen before. Many times. Feels easy.
- The Bet: Kyle Schwarber to Hit a Home Run (+280) – BetMGM
Saturday HR Pick #3 – Munetaka Murakami Can’t Be Stopped
Finally, we’re going to need a little night action. Obviously, we’re not going to just stop gambling during the day on a Saturday. After all, this is America, and we’re betting on their national pastime. It’d be the total wrong move by us.
Luckily, our hands are tied here since we’re going to see Munetaka Murakami facing Jameson Taillon.
We used to call Jameson “Tape Measure Taillon,” but we’ve stopped that now since it’s borderline rude. We’re better than that. But in our defense, it’s true. There is nobody on this planet I’d rather bet a lefty against than Jameson. The man has a gift of giving up absolute nukes to that side of the plate, and the White Sox have two lefties in Murakami and Colson Montgomery who hit bombs. Colson just went last night, so Jameson should be ready for him. My guess is he gets smashed by Murakami. Feels right.
- The Bet: Munetaka Murakami to Hit a Home Run (+320) – FanDuel
