Brazilian tourists contributed nearly R$2.5 billion to the economy of Las Vegas in 2024, emerging as one of the highest-spending international visitor groups, according to data from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority accessed by BNLData.

Visitors from Brazil spent an average of US$3,351 per trip, totaling approximately R$2.45 billion (US$493.16 million) and placing Brazil third among the highest-spending markets.

Only Australia at US$4,456 and India at US$3,947 recorded higher per-trip spending. Brazilian spending exceeded that of tourists from Canada at US$1,357, Mexico at US$1,199, the Netherlands at US$2,488, Ireland at US$2,079, France at US$2,011, Japan at US$1,896, South Korea at US$1,894, Germany at US$2,490, and the United Kingdom at US$1,860.

In terms of volume, Brazil recorded 138,200 visitors to Las Vegas in 2024, ranking seventh among international markets and accounting for 2.8% of total foreign arrivals. Canada led with 1,448,700 visitors representing 29.2%, followed by Mexico with 1,175,600 representing 23.7%, while domestic travel within the United States reached 2,624,300 visitors representing 52.8%.

The LVCVA report, titled 2024 International Visitor Characteristics by Country, also highlighted visitor behavior. Despite casinos being banned in Brazil since 1946, 48.7% of Brazilian tourists reported gambling or playing games during their stay.

Tourism from Brazil has shown steady recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. Visitor numbers increased from 11,500 in 2021 and 18,400 in 2020 to 97,300 in 2022 and 123,700 in 2023, reaching 138,200 in 2024. However, this remains below pre-pandemic levels of 156,000 in 2019 and 181,000 in 2018.

Nevada, particularly Las Vegas, was the main destination in the United States for 55.8% of Brazilian tourists. On average, visitors stayed 6.4 nights in the city and 20.9 nights across the country, traveling through 2.2 states and visiting 2.9 destinations. Most travelers, at 85.3%, stayed in hotels or motels.
