WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star

After being resurrected last year, the World Poker Tour (WPT) Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship is once again returning to California’s Bay 101 Casino.

The WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Festival will take place Oct. 16-Nov. 1 in San Jose, while the $5,300 buy-in Championship event will take place Oct. 23-27.

Win a Shooting Star’s Bounty

The Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship is a unique event where various poker stars are invited as Shooting Star Bounties. Bust one of these Shooting Stars and you will win a $2,500 bounty.

“Few tournaments carry the tradition and prestige of the Bay 101 Shooting Star Championship, WPT CEO Adam Pliska said in a press release. “This event has helped shape the history of the World Poker Tour and we are honored to continue that legacy.”

Last year’s bounties included poker pros and personalities Shannon Shorr, Nikki Limo, Matt Salsberg, Chance Kornuth, Justin Young and Nick Rigby. Of the 23 bounties, Kornuth had the deepest run, making it to the six-handed final table before being eliminated by eventual champion Kharlin Sued.
