Chino Rheem, Having Another Career Year, Wins Back-to-Back PGT PLO Series Titles

In February, PokerNews wrote that Chino Rheem may have an even bigger year coming after a career-best 2026. That prediction is already proving itself true as the longtime pro won his second straight PokerGO Tour (PGT) PLO Series title.

Rheem won last year’s PGT PLO Series II, culminating with a victory in the $25,200 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship for $510,000. This time around, he secured four cashes to earn $136,555 and 281 leaderboard points.

Yet Rheem didn’t top the series leaderboard this time. That distinction went to Omaha crusher Bruno Furth, who didn’t walk away with the title despite finishing first on the leaderboard.

Furth Loses Series Title on Technicality

Rheem’s best result of the series, which took place at Venetian Las Vegas, came in the $3,300 buy-in Main Event, where he finished runner-up to Furth for $100,000 and 200 series points. Furth, meanwhile, won the trophy, $150,000 and 300 points.

It ended up being Furth’s only cash of the series, and leaderboard rules required players to earn at least two cashes to qualify. That left the title going Rheem’s way after an eighth-place finish in Event #2, a fourth-place finish in Event #3 and a fifth-place finish in Event #5.

Rheem was humble when he learned he won the series title on a technicality.

“I’m not really accepting this series thing because Bruno technically had more points than me,” he told PokerGO. “I lost. Bruno had 16 more points than me, but he only cashed in one event. I cashed in four.

“So boys are now here at the studio saying that I won, which whatever, cool, but technically I didn’t win the leaderboard, anyone. But whatever, thank you.”

Ausmus, Soverel Among Other Series Winners

There were a few PokerGO regulars who picked up their latest PGT titles, and that includes high-stakes vlogger Jeremy Ausmus (Event #3: $5,100 Pot-Limit Omaha Quattro Bounty – $51,450) and Sam Soverel (Event #2: $5,100 Pot-Limit Omaha – $89,100), who got redemption after finishing runner-up in the PokerGO Cup finale earlier this month.

The biggest score of the series went to Jeremy Druckman, who topped a field of 57 players in the $10,100 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship to win $182,400.

The series closed out with Qinghai Pan winning Event #8: $5,100 Pot-Limit Omaha after a dominant performance by The Fisherman at the PokerGO Cup earlier this month that included three final table appearances.

Next up on the PGT schedule is the US Poker Open, a series that will take place April 10-23 back inside the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino.
