Spanish gaming and betting operator CIRSA reported record second-quarter operating profit and revenue as acquisitions, casino investments and strong performances from its Spanish slots and online businesses drove growth.

Operating profit rose 8.3% year over year to a record €202 million ($232 million) in the second quarter, marking the first time the company has generated more than €200 million in quarterly operating profit.

Revenue increased 10.1% to a record €637 million ($731.6 million), supported by organic growth, disciplined investment and contributions from recently acquired businesses. The quarter marked CIRSA’s 72nd consecutive quarter of operating-profit growth.

For the first half of 2026, revenue rose 9.1% from a year earlier, while operating profit increased 8.4%. The company said it expects to finish the year at the upper end of its previously issued guidance.

The casinos division posted growth across all of its markets, supported by strategic initiatives and higher customer activity. During the quarter, CIRSA completed five refurbishment projects under its Gold Mine investment programme, including work at Casino Majestic Panama.

The company also expanded six gaming halls in Spain’s Andalusia and Catalonia regions and installed more than 700 new gaming machines across its casino estate. It also continued integrating its recently acquired businesses in Peru and Morocco.

Revenue from CIRSA’s Slots Spain business increased 11.2%, while EBITDA grew more than 17%, driven by productivity improvements, selective acquisitions, integration synergies and demand for products including Manhattan Mirage, Manhattan Premium and Manhattan Magic.

In Italy, the company continued to outperform the declining amusement-with-prizes market, while the video lottery terminal segment remained stable. CIRSA said delays to an expected regulatory decree could extend the current market framework through 2027 and 2028, with a new tender potentially taking place in 2029.

Online gaming and sports betting revenue rose 14.9%, supported by record active-player and customer acquisition levels, as well as increased commercial activity during the opening phase of the World Cup in the final two weeks of the quarter.

CIRSA said its liquidity position would enable it to continue balancing organic investment with disciplined mergers and acquisitions after expanding its presence in Paraguay and Portugal through recent deals.

The company operates 459 casinos, more than 85,000 gaming machines across 11 countries and approximately 2,500 sports-betting points.
