Daniel Negreanu has cashed for $464,521 this summer, but that number only tells part of the story. More than halfway through the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP), and after more than a million in buy-ins, the Poker Hall of Famer and seven-time bracelet winner is stuck quite a hefty chunk of change.
In his latest vlog, Negreanu shared his results for the summer so far, showing him to be down $571,729. When added with his $464,521 in cashes, it is clear that he had fired over a million in buy-ins. But, given his proven results for decades, there’s plenty of time to turn it around.
Negreanu Down More Than Half a Million
Results-wise, Negreanu has still had a decent summer. He’s logged final table finishes in both big and small fields, first finishing eighth in $600 No Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha for $24,347 and later finishing seventh in $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha/NL Hold’em High Roller for $152,954. He also had a six-figure cash off an 11th-place finish in $50,000 Pot Limit Omaha High Roller.
Most recently, Negreanu had a small cash of $3,167 in $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better.
But Negreanu has fared worse in some of the higher buy-in events. He failed to cash the biggest buy-in of the summer, the $250,000 Super High Roller, and it was the same story in the $100,000 High Roller. He also lost most of his stack in the first ten minutes of the $50,000 Poker Players Championship and later fell ahead of the money.

And while he is constantly firing and looking to “optimize” $25k Fantasy points, Negreanu isn’t afraid to take an evening off to rest or spend time at home. In his latest vlog, Negreanu explained his decision to not register on Day 1 of the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship.
“In my mind state, the idea of playing until 1 or 2 in the morning, its five o clock right now, the chances that I’m going to put in a good effort are very low,” he explained from his car. “So, what this will allow me to do is recharge.”

Can He Turn Things Around?
Though he is down more than half a million, it isn’t too late for Negreanu to turn things around. He was down big at the 2021 WSOP but saved it with two massive late cashes, first finishing third in $50,000 PLO for $519,764 and then finishing third in $50,000 NLH for $661,041.
And he can have a good summer even if he loses. That happened in 2024, when he won the most prestigious title of his lengthy career in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship for $1.1 million, but still finished the summer in the red.
And things aren’t all bad for Negreanu. His team is currently leading the 25K Fantasy with 871 points, largely thanks to Josh Arieh’s stellar summer and recent runner-up finish in the PPC. That could bring Negreanu and his team another six-figure score.
“As you can see, we’re crushing,” Negreanu said in his vlog.
And Negreanu also has more important things going on his life. He caps off the vlog by showcasing a nursery that Amanda Negreanu designed for their expectant child.
