Doug Polk will take on another online poker challenge starting Monday on ClubWPT Gold, the sweeps coin site he promotes, and this could be his most intriguing one in years.
The heads-up poker legend will attempt to turn $50,000 into $100,000, but he isn’t going to stick exclusively to his bread and butter — no-limit hold’em. He will also mix in some pot-limit Omaha, and he’s committing to play until he either reaches his goal or loses every last penny.
Online Poker Challenge Details

ClubWPT Gold, a World Poker Tour (WPT)-branded platform, is set to launch in Canada this week and will also add PLO for the first time. Polk is using this challenge to help promote the site he represents as an ambassador, and will be giving away free chips to viewers each day during the online poker contest.
The three-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner shared details of the upcoming challenge in a video on Sunday where he analyzed Nik Airball’s $750,000 loss on Hustler Casino Live. And it appears this might be his most intriguing online poker challenge since he beat Daniel Negreanu for $1.2 million a half-decade agao.
Polk said he will livestream on YouTube daily at 9 a.m. CT starting on Monday. Some streams, he said, could last an hour or two, and others could go on for half the entire day. The streams won’t end until he either reaches $100,000 or $0 from the initial $50,000 buy-in. He plans to play mostly $10/$20 cash game stakes, both PLO and NLH.
The co-owner of Texas’ The Lodge Card Club has taken on a number of online poker challenges since he started promoting “Code Doug” on ClubWPT Gold. He’s lost most, and the one he actually won, he still technically lost because he didn’t turn a profit.
