A Texas poker record was set at TCH Social in the first-ever World Series of Poker (WSOP)-branded series in Lone Star State history.
Texas Card House’s Austin location kicked off a WSOP Circuit series on April 23, a historic event for the Texas poker community. The massive card room, one of six TCH locations across the state, broke a record on Saturday evening that will be tough to top any time soon.

The record in question occurred during the $1,700 Main Event, which kicked off April 30. There were three Day 1 starting flights in the $1 million guaranteed no-limit hold’em tournament.
That guarantee was obliterated long before registration closed during Saturday’s Flight C session. When all was said and done, there were 1,709 entrants in the Main Event, creating a prize pool of $2,589,135, more than doubling the guarantee. First place will pay $231,165.
The previous record was set in 2024 at Champions Club in Houston during the $3,300 PGT Texas Poker Open Main Event, won by Ren Lin for $400,000, the largest share of the $2,205,000 prize pool.
Victor Leone, Texas Card House Chief Operating Officer, shared some words of appreciation for those in attendance after the prize pool was announced.
“Alongside with many other first, we got to set so many records, one of which, for this prize pool specifically, has broken the biggest tournament record in in Texas,” Leone told the crowd. “We look forward to breaking more records
Flight C was still underway at the time of publishing. But the big stacks from Flight A were Steven Mann (913,000) and Shawn Savage (800,000), while Drake Kemper (1,942,000) and Thomas Brabham (1,196,000) bagged the top stacks from Flight B on Friday.
The Main Event will play down to a winner on Tuesday.
