After 14 years at MGM China Holdings Ltd, veteran Macau gaming executive Hubert Wang has joined Sands China Ltd as Chief Operating Officer, effective June 1.

Wang joins Sands China after departing MGM China Holdings Ltd in December, where he served as President and Chief Operating Officer. At the time, MGM China said he was leaving the company “to pursue personal aspirations.”

In his new position, Wang will report directly to Sands China CEO and President Grant Chum and become a member of the company’s executive committee, reports Inside Asian Gaming.

“Hubert will join the Sands China executive committee and oversee gaming and resort operations, market development, international marketing, and loyalty marketing,” Chum said in a statement. Wang will also oversee strategic analysis and property operations.

Sands China said Wang brings three decades of experience in the gaming and integrated resort industry, including extensive experience in the Macau market.

The executive is returning to familiar territory. He was part of the opening team at The Venetian Macao in 2007 and later joined the opening team at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore in 2010.

The company described Wang as “a seasoned executive in the Macau market” and cited his experience across gaming and resort operations.

“I am confident Hubert will be a valuable addition to our senior executive team, as we continue to strengthen our market leadership,” Chum said.

In 2025, he was ranked No. 28 on Inside Asian Gaming’s Asian Gaming Power 50 list, which tracks influential figures across the Asia-Pacific gaming industry.
