Georgia vs Texas Picks
Moneyline Pick: Georgia Moneyline (-117, Kalshi)
Despite the loss last night, I am backing Georgia to bounce back with a win and advance past Texas. Even with the more difficult path, Georgia has a 16% chance in College World Series odds, behind North Carolina and Oklahoma but ahead of Texas.
It is hard to bet against Georgia’s remarkable offense. In the first matchup with Texas, Georgia scored seven runs with the help of one home run. Last night, despite the loss, Georgia slugged three home runs. Star Daniel Jackson hit his 32nd home run last night, helping his batting line to a ridiculous .384/.479/.820 mark.
Run-Total Pick: Under 11.5 Runs (-120, DraftKings)
So far in Omaha, 12 runs have crossed the plate just three times in eight games. An average of 7.5 runs have been scored in Georgia games. Texas did score 14 runs last ight against Alabama, the highest output of the College World Series, but part of this can be explain by Alabama tipping its pitches throughout the night.
I expect Georgia to win with a scoreline such as 6-4 or 5-3 tonight.
Georgia vs Texas Odds
Georgia is trading at 54¢ to win this elimination game (equivalent to -117 odds). A $100 trade would return a $179.40 payout on Kalshi. Texas is trading at 49¢ to get its revenge on Georgia (equivalent to +104 odds). A $100 trade would yield a $197.04 payout on Kalshi.
The total is set at a minimum of 9.5 runs with a 62¢ trade on the over (-163 implied odds). Kalshi also has available lines for 13.5 runs and 17.5 runs.
Georgia vs Texas Statistical Profiles
Georgia has the superior offense, boasting an OPS that is over 100 points higher than that of Texas. Georgia slugged an extra 79 home runs, better than one more per game and contributed 193 extra hits (about three more per game). Georgia has a 24-point advantage in batting average.
On the pitching side, Texas has the steady advantage. Texas has pitched to an ERA nearly a run lower while surrendering fewer hits and walks. On the walks front, Texas avoids about 2.5 walks per game compared to Georgia. Texas’ pitchers have combined for 14 more strikeouts than Georgia’s despite having five fewer games.
UGA vs TEX: Road to Omaha
Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia had a perfect run through the Athens Regional and Super Regional, knocking off LIU, Liberty (twice), and Mississippi State (twice) to make it to Omaha.
In Omaha, Georgia beat Texas 7-1 in the opener before succumbing in a surprise loss to the Oklahoma Sooners.
Texas Longhorns
Texas swept through the Austin Regional, clobbering Holy Cross, Tarleton State, and UC Santa Barbara by a combined 41-7 score. In the Austin Super Regional, Texas handled Oregon 11-3 and 6-5 to earn a sweep.
In Omaha, Texas dropped its opening game to Georgia before rebounding against Alabama 14-2 to earn a rematch with Georgia.
College World Series History
Georgia
