Golden Knights vs Mammoth Prediction, Picks & Odds for Game 4 (Apr. 27)

The Utah Mammoth (43-33-6, 22-16-3 home) can create some major separation in their Round 1 series with the Vegas Golden Knights (39-26-17, 19-14-8 away) and push the Pacific Division champions to brink of elimination with a win in Game 4.

Online sportsbooks aren’t sold on the Mammoth just yet, as they’ve listed them as home underdogs in the NHL odds.

Puck drop is set for 9:30pm ET from the Delta Center in Utah, with ESPN carrying the broadcast coverage.

Golden Knights vs Mammoth Prediction

• Pick: Under 6.0 goals (-120 at bet365)

The Golden Knights might be on the ropes, but they should feel good about their prospects, even after losing Game 3 in the first ever NHL Playoff home game for the Utah Mammoth.

Despite losing 4-2, the Golden Knights limited the Utah attack to just 12 shots for the entire game. The Mammoth became just the eighth team in 1974 to win a playoff game with 12 or fewer shots on goal.

It was also an outlier performance for Golden Knights goalie Carter Hart, who was a sparkling 7-1-0 with a .932 save percentage in his last eight previous starts.

But there is work to do, as Vegas has scored just two goals in each of his last two games, despite peppering Utah with 32 shots on net, their high for the series. Their powerplay could use some work, as it’s connected twice on nine chances.

Utah is getting stellar goaltending from Karel Vejmelka, posting a 2.36 goals-against average and .916 save percentage in the series, a sharp increase from his regular season numbers

They’ve also got good production from Dylan Guenther, Logan Cooley and Lawson Crouse, who have each tallied twice, but Utah hasn’t even hit full stride.

Nick Schmaltz, Clayton Keller and JJ Peterka — three of their Top 4 goal scorers on the season) have yet to light the lamp, and have combined for just three total points

As long as a book offer a total of six goals, I’m going to keep sticking to the Under for this matchup which has gone 5-1-2 in the last eight games. The Over hit last game, but the teams have gone eight straight games combining for six goals or less.

The only time they’ve gone over that was their inaugural meeting in November 2024.

With two strong goaltenders and opportunistic goalscoring vs dynamic goalscoring, I’ll stay Under the total until these teams show me they can touch seven goals.

• Clayton Keller – Anytime Goalscorer (+210 at bet365): Keller, who popped 26 goals in the regular season, has failed to score a goal in eight straight games, matching his season-high longest drought. I like hime to finally break through, as he’s scored eight goals against Vegas in his last 10 regular season games.

• Karel Vejmelka – Over 24.5 Saves (-130 at bet365): This bet is much to do with how well Vejmelka is playing and how desperate Vegas will be to even things up. They’ve already taken 30+ shots in two of three games — with Vejmelka cashing the Over on this line twice — and there should be plenty of shot volume again for the Golden Knights in Game 4.
