The early Indiana vs Miami betting line hit the board at halftime of Thursday’s Peach Bowl semifinal. Oddsmakers apparently aren’t giving Oregon much of a chance to mount a comeback tonight.
Indiana opened as 7.5-point favorites in the National Championship odds for the projected matchup on January 19. The Hoosiers were destroying Oregon 35-7 at the break when FanDuel released the early spread.
Miami punched its ticket the night before with a 31-27 thriller over Ole Miss in Friday’s Fiesta Bowl. The Indiana vs Miami spread shows a significant jump from the look-ahead line of -5.5, moving up two full points based on Indiana’s first-half dominance.
The college football odds have the total sitting at 49.5 for the championship.

Indiana’s -330 moneyline translates to a 76.7% implied win probability. The Hoosiers are heavy favorites to cap off their undefeated season with a national title.

Miami Edges Ole Miss in Fiesta Bowl
The Hurricanes survived a thriller on Friday night, beating Ole Miss 31-27 in the Fiesta Bowl. Carson Beck scrambled for the game-winning touchdown from 3 yards out with 18 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
Beck completed passes for 268 yards while Miami rushed for 191 yards. Mark Fletcher Jr. was physical all night, dragging defenders and wearing down the Rebels’ defense. Trinidad Chambliss threw for 277 yards in the loss.
The win sends Miami to the National Championship for the first time since 2001. The Hurricanes pulled off upsets over defending champion Ohio State and Texas A&M to reach the title game.
Indiana Dominating Oregon at Half
Meanwhile in Atlanta, the Hoosiers were cruising at halftime with a 35-7 lead over Oregon. Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza completed 10 of 11 passes for three touchdowns in the first half, posting a ridiculous 91% completion rate.
Indiana converted 6-of-7 on third down while Oregon turned the ball over three times. The Ducks managed just 9 rushing yards on 17 attempts. Two fumbles and a Dante Moore interception buried Oregon early.
If the undefeated Hoosiers close this out, they’ll head to Hard Rock Stadium for a shot at the program’s first national championship.

They outscored opponents by over 9 points per game this season, beat Alabama 38-3 in the Rose Bowl, and throttled Ohio State 13-10 in the Big Ten Championship.
The defense allowed just 10.1 points per game. That’s elite on both sides of the ball for Indiana.

That said, Miami’s playing at home, and Hard Rock Stadium will be packed with Hurricanes fans. Still, Indiana traveled well all season, with 85% of the Rose Bowl crowd wearing cream and crimson. The home-field edge might not be as big as you’d think.
