  • The John Deere Classic tees off Thursday, July 2nd

After Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland went toe-to-toe at the Travelers Championship, the PGA Tour heads to Silvis, Illinois for the John Deere Classic. This tourney often struggles to attract an impressive field, but it’s better than it has been in years. Having said that, most of the big guns have decided to rest following the U.S. Open two weeks ago and the Travelers, which is a signature event.

Going low is imperative to win at TPC Deere Run, with at least 18-under-par being the score of the eventual champion every year since 2009. With most of the hotshots electing not to tee it up, it allows there to be a myriad of possibilities and potential improbable champions, like Brian Campbell last year, who went off at wild +40000 odds in 2025.

John Deere Classic Odds (2026)

I’m starting my card this week with what I believe will be a popular selection this week, which is Tom Kim. He rattled off three PGA Tour victories by the age of 21, the first to do that since Tiger Woods. He’d fallen on tougher times since his triumph at the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open, in particular in 2025.

However, in the last month, Kim has really started to prove why he was considered such a can’t miss prospect, and on talent alone, he’d be the favorite to win if he was playing exceptionally well. Kim had a T-6th at Myrtle Beach, then two events ago, was inside the top-15 at the RBC Canadian Open.

Where he really popped was the last time teeing it up, where he was third at the U.S. Open. You can get him at odds that are longer than the top-twelve on the board, so there’s considerable value on Kim.

John Deere Classic 2026 Picks & Value Bets

  1. Jackson Suber +5500: Young phenom Jackson Suber has been turning heads in his sophomore season, particularly of late. He was fourth at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, then two starts later, contended deep into the final round of the RBC Canadian Open, before winding up T-4th. That tourney saw him as the 54-hole leader, as he’s coming closer and closer to that elusive first W.
  2. Denny McCarthy +6200: Denny McCarthy is long overdue to pick up his first PGA Tour victory. This would be a soft landing spot for it to occur, since the field isn’t super deep. McCarthy has been remarkably consistent at this course in his career, picking off three straight top-7s from 2022-2024, then a T-11th a season ago. McCarthy had a solid top-15 at the Travelers Championship.
  3. Emiliano Grillo +9200: Two-time PGA Tour winner Emiliano Grillo has had tremendous success at TPC Deere Run, very nearly coming away with the trophy a year ago, losing in a playoff to Brian Campbell. In 2022, the Argentinian also was the runner-up at this tournament. He comes in with a pair of solid showings, with top-25s at the RBC Canadian Open and U.S. Open.
  4. Lucas Glover +17500: There’s no way to sugarcoat it, the veteran Lucas Glover hasn’t had a great 2026, but he’s a horse for this course. Glover has a victory here in 2021, and has put together a fifth place showing last year, and a T-6th in 2023. In his career, Glover has six career top-15s at this track, so I love him as a flyer at this number. While winning might be a stretch, he’ll be interesting to monitor in the top 5/10/20 markets.
