Six months after stripping Shakur Stevenson of its lightweight title, the WBC will crown a new 135-pound champion between Lamont Roach Jr. (25-1-3) and William Zepeda (33-1). The highly anticipated matchup headlines the second edition of ‘The Fight,’ which will be broadcast on TNT in the United States on linear television.

Roach and Zepeda each return in world title fights despite coming off disappointing results in their last respective outings. Roach, the former WBA super featherweight champion, is coming off back-to-back controversial draws with Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz, leaving him winless since mid-2024. Zepeda last fought in July 2025, when he suffered his first professional loss to Stevenson.

The Roach-Zepeda title fight headlines a loaded fight card that also features IBF lightweight champion Raymond Muratalla (24-0) defending his belt against former champion Robson Conceicao (21-3-1) in the co-main event. Muratalla gained significant momentum in his last fight, an upset victory over former Olympic gold medalist Andy Cruz, and looks to keep the ball rolling against another notable opponent.

Roach vs. Zepeda Fight Card Odds

Roach vs. Zepeda is easily the closest-lined fight of the night, with Roach listed as a very slight -125 favorite. The fight is expected to come down to a close decision, with the Over 10.5 round prop listed at -400.

Muratalla is tied for the biggest favorite on the card with Raul Curiel, who takes on Quinton Randall on the main card. Both are listed at -1400, giving them implied win probabilities of 93.3 percent.

Lamont Roach Jr. vs. William Zepeda Prediction

Lamont Roach Jr. finds himself in the unique situation of preparing for his fifth consecutive world title fight despite being winless since mid-2024 and without a belt to his name. Nonetheless, Roach enters his second lightweight title fight as the favorite against No. 1-ranked contender William Zepeda.

Like most of both men’s fights, Roach vs. Zepeda will be a clash of styles. Zepeda is one of the fastest starters in the sport. The Mexican averages 92.2 punches thrown per round, the most by any fighter on Compubox.

Conversely, Roach is a high-IQ boxer who is among the best in the business at making in-game adjustments and finishing strong down the stretch. The 30-year-old’s penchant for slow starts was evidenced by his getting knocked down by Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz in his last fight, but as usual, he ended the fight like a snowball rolling downhill, out-landing the champion in seven of the last eight rounds.

The contrasting styles seemingly favors Zepeda early. ‘El Camaron’ has gotten the better of every opponent through the first six rounds, including Shakur Stevenson, whom he had hurt and nearly dropped in round three. But unless he can close the show early and become the first fighter to stop Roach, he will find himself drowning down the stretch.

Once Roach gets the timing of his opponent down, he is among the best in the business at manipulating the range and baiting fighters into his set traps. The dam will finally break and Roach will become a two-division world champion on the scorecards.

Raymond Muratalla vs. Robson Conceicao Best Bet

Coming off the biggest win of his career, Raymond Muratalla has another opportunity to cement his IBF lightweight title reign against former 130-pound titleholder Robson Conceicao. Unlike his last challenge, Muratalla enters his second title defense as the overwhelming betting favorite.

After engaging in a technical battle with Andy Cruz, Muratalla will find himself in another war of attrition against Conceicao. Both have the power and aggression to catch the other, and both have also hit the canvas multiple times throughout their career.

The biggest difference between the two power punchers will be the champion’s speed. Muratalla is eight years younger than Conceicao and fights like the younger, more athletic boxer with fast hands, higher output and crisper footwork. As the naturally bigger man, Muratalla also figures to have the power advantage.

If Muratalla fights with the pressure and footwork he used to upset Andy Cruz, his pace and output will be too much for the 37-year-old to handle in his third fight at 135 pounds. The champion has the power to stop Conceicao, who has been knocked down four times in his last 12 fights, but he has just one stoppage victory in his last five outings. The judges will grant Muratalla his second title defense in convincing fashion.

Raul Curiel vs. Quinton Randall Best Bet

The WBA’s No. 1-ranked welterweight contender returns on the Roach-Zepeda undercard, as Raul Curiel looks to remain undefeated against 35-year-old American Quinton Randall. Curiel is one of the biggest favorites on the card for a good reason as he takes on a fighter who is just 4-3 in his last seven fights.

The flat-footed Curiel still has many holes in his game that have been exposed at various points throughout his career. Regardless, he gets the matchup he desires against Randall, who will stand right in front of him and fight him in the pocket. Randall loves standing in front of his opponents, looking for one big shot to change the fight.

Against Curiel, whose defense is heavily reliant on his chin, Randall will have opportunities to find the mark. Yet, the younger Curiel is the twitchier fighter with faster combinations and better precision down the pipe, where he can break down Randall’s guard.

Despite facing several heavy-handed fighters, including former WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr., Randall has yet to be stopped in his 21-fight career. But given the lackluster way Randall holds his guard, Curiel will repeatedly hit his chin until he becomes the first fighter to stop the American.

Charles Conwell vs. Paul Kroll Prediction

Coming off the first loss of his professional career to Jorge Garcia Perez, Charles Conwell has not fought since April 2025. Regardless of how much work he has put in during the dark hours, the 28-year-old returns to a favorable matchup against career welterweight Paul Kroll. The Philadelphia native spent his entire career competing between 147 and 154 pounds before suddenly moving up to super middleweight in his last fight in March.

As a devastating phone-booth fighter, Conwell struggled to get into his range against the longer, more disciplined Perez. Conwell is lethal in the pocket, but he showed his limitations in that fight and could not consistently track down a veteran opponent.

As the lighter fighter, Kroll will attempt to dance around Conwell for as long as he can. Kroll is an excellent counterpuncher when defending single shots in a slow-paced bout, but he can get easily overwhelmed when opponents throw quick combinations in his face. Conwell will never let him off the leash and will punish him to the head and body the moment he sets his feet.

The longer this fight goes, the more Conwell will drown Kroll with his pressure and constant body work. Conwell will take the fight out of Kroll before the bout’s natural conclusion.
