GGPoker WSOP Super Circuit

$715,096. That is the gargantuan sum now nestled in the GGPoker account of Brazil’s Leonardo “tadifacil” Nascimento. In the coming days, Nascimento will receive a coveted gold WSOP Circuit ring to go with his life-changing cash haul thanks to him coming out on top in the $250 Mini Main Event of the WSOP Super Circuit.

The $250 Mini Main Event drew in a huge crowd of 26,684 entrants over more than four dozen flights. All those entries resulted in a $6,137,320 prize pool, which obliterated the $5 million guarantee.

Day 2 saw 2,617 players return to their seats, each guaranteed $502 for their efforts, but knowing they were within relative touching distance of a six-figure prize. The likes of Kacper Pyzara, Rui Ferreira, Preben Stokkan, and Joe Serock were among the early Day 2 casualties.

As the tournament’s final table edged closer, such luminaries as Vlad Darie, Martin Jacobson, Barak Wisbrod, and Matas Cimbolas ran out of steam, the latter finishing 36th for $9,454.

By the time the nine-handed final table was set, $89,348 was the smallest available prize, while the top five finishers would walk away with more than a quarter million dollars.

$250 Mini Main Event Final Table Chip Counts

1 Leonardo “tadifacil” Nascimento Brazil 85,567,118
2 Sarahcall1 Austria 81,746,936
3 Younes Maghous Brazil 27,716,503
4 Chozhcheng Taiwan 22,629,854

7 Viacheslav Larin Montenegro 8,927,314
8 pekeDavidi China 6,913,936
9 Kinology Singapore 3,698,608

Viacheslav Larin was the first of the finalists to find themselves on the sidelines. Larin’s elimination locked in six figures for the eight surviving players.

Eighth-place and $115,860 went to Singapore’s “Kinology,” who was joined on the rail by “pekeDavidi” ($150,242) and Brazilian Younes Maghous ($194,830).

Belgium’s “zorro1” busted in fifth for $252,655 before the eliminations of “Chozhicheng” ($327,643) and Austria’s “Sarahcall1” ($424,891) saw the $250 Mini Main Event progress to the heads-up stages.

Nascimento faced Russia’s “serggorelyi” in the heads-up battle. No deal was struck despite a $164,090 difference in prize money. That lack of a deal meant “serggorelyi” received a $551,006 consolation prize after falling in second place, while Nascimento secured a massive $715,096 first-place prize.
