Loto-Québec reported a landmark financial performance in the 2025–2026 fiscal year, surpassing $3.089 billion in total revenue for the first time in its history. The crown corporation’s consolidated net income reached $1.526 billion, marking the fourth consecutive year in which net earnings exceeded $1.5 billion. All of these earnings are fully reinvested into Québec communities. The operator also distributed a record $1.914 billion in lottery prizes, creating 111 new millionaires over the fiscal year.
Real Estate and Strategic Expansion
Loto-Québec continued to invest heavily in both physical infrastructure and customer experience enhancements. Key real estate initiatives included the construction of a hotel adjacent to the Casino de Montréal, the opening of new gaming halls in Rimouski and Saguenay, and the expansion of the Hôtel-Casino du Lac-Leamy conference centre. These projects aim to strengthen tourism and economic activity in the province, while offering improved amenities and entertainment experiences to patrons.
The corporation also implemented a focused strategy for video lottery terminals, reducing the number of locations but ensuring that remaining facilities foster social interaction and meet high-quality operational standards.
Revenue Breakdown and Community Contributions
Casinos and gaming halls remained the largest source of revenue, generating $1.301 billion, followed by lottery games at $995.6 million and other gaming establishments contributing $814.5 million.
Beyond operational revenues, Loto-Québec maintained a strong community focus. The organization invested $442 million in payroll, purchased $442 million worth of goods and services from Québec-based businesses, and paid $324 million in commissions to retail partners.
Efforts toward problem gambling prevention amounted to $36 million, while charitable donations and support for non-profit organizations reached $18 million. Additional sponsorships and contributions for local entertainment and culture totaled $10 million.
Lottery Milestones and Digital Engagement
The 2025–2026 fiscal year included several notable lottery wins. In July, a Montérégie resident and a Montréal resident shared a $70 million Lotto Max jackpot, the largest awarded that year. In September, 14 residents from a small Basse-Côte-Nord community shared a $50 million prize, highlighting the reach of Loto-Québec’s lottery offerings.
Online engagement remains a critical growth area; according to Loto-Québec’s 2025–2026 annual report 81% of Québec players chose the corporation’s digital platform, demonstrating its effectiveness in meeting customer expectations. CEO Jean-François Bergeron emphasized the importance of a responsible approach to online gaming, including sports betting, stating: “It is essential that Loto-Québec strengthen its position in online gaming, including sports betting, to ensure greater oversight and that the profits generated benefit the people of Québec. We’re promoting a responsible approach, aiming to capture the market rather than stimulate its growth.”
Bergeron also noted that the corporation’s real estate and infrastructure investments are integral to enhancing the customer experience and contributing to Québec’s economic and touristic vitality.
Loto-Québec’s record-breaking fiscal performance underscores its capacity to balance robust revenue growth with social responsibility, strategic expansion, and ongoing contributions to Québec communities, solidifying its role as a key driver of the province’s economic and social well-being.
