Bally’s Corporation has completed its acquisition of Sam’s Town Shreveport from Boyd Gaming, expanding its presence in Louisiana.
The acquisition adds the gaming and hospitality property to Bally’s portfolio and strengthens its presence in the Shreveport-Bossier market. The company said the property will be rebranded under the Bally’s name in the near future.
“Today’s closing marks an important milestone for Bally’s as we continue to expand our presence in key regional markets and invest in destinations with strong long-term potential,” said Soo Kim, Chairman of Bally’s Corporation. “We appreciate Boyd Gaming’s partnership and professionalism throughout this process and thank the Louisiana Gaming Control Board for its thoughtful review and approval of the transaction.”
He added that the company will work with regulators, local leaders and employees to ensure a smooth transition. “Louisiana is an important market for our company, and we are excited about the opportunities ahead,” Soo Kim added.
The property boasts a 29,000-square-foot gaming floor with 750 slots and 14 table games, along with a hotel encompassing 514 rooms. It also includes multiple restaurants, a live entertainment venue, and convention and meeting space.
The property had been part of Boyd Gaming’s portfolio since 2004. Sam’s Town is located directly adjacent to Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel.
Bally’s said it will prioritise integrating the property into its portfolio while ensuring a seamless transition for employees and guests. The company will also assess opportunities to enhance the property’s offerings.
Rapper and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who has invested in Shreveport’s entertainment district, welcomed the acquisition.
“Together, we have an opportunity to create new entertainment, dining and retail experiences that attract visitors, support local businesses and contribute to Shreveport’s continued growth,” he said. “I look forward to working with Bally’s to help build something that benefits the community for years to come.”
With the addition of Sam’s Town Shreveport, Bally’s domestic casino portfolio will total 19 properties across 11 states.
