- Record online casino progressive jackpot win
- Bragg announces Player Account Management platform and turnkey solution agreement in Finland
Nice bit of news on the Canadian igaming scene today, as the teeth of winter sweeps through the Toronto area. Betty.ca announced some lucky individual has won a progressive jackpot of $2,162,686.68, the largest online casino jackpot ever awarded on the platform and the biggest jackpot reported in Ontario since igaming market launch in 2022.

The Ontario player triggered the Maple Moolah Progressive Jackpot on Betty.ca during regular gameplay on the King of Alexandria slot game with a .50 bet – entirely random and unexpected. Progressive jackpots like Maple Moolah build incrementally over time.
$2.1 Million Win
This record win reinforces Betty’s commitment to offering a premium entertainment environment through its progressive jackpot games,” said Deyan Valtchev, Chief Revenue Officer of Betty. “The jackpot was won during regular gameplay on a 50-cent bet, illustrating the broad appeal of our progressive jackpot portfolio.”
King of Alexandria, set in ancient Egypt, combines classic slot mechanics with modern features like bi-directional paylines, expanding re-spins and a Wheel Bonus offering guaranteed jackpots, including the Mega top prize.
Bragg Announces Finland Deal
Toronto-based Bragg Gaming Group has signed an agreement with Finland-based SuomiVeto that will see the iGaming content and platform technology solutions company provide SuomiVeto access to its proprietary Player Account Management (PAM) platform, a portfolio of exclusive casino games, a fully managed sportsbook, Fuze Player Engagement tools plus marketing and operational services.
The newly regulated Finnish igaming market goes live for private operators on July 1, 2027. License application window opens in March 2026. SuomiVeto will be a market entrant led by the founders of BetCity.nl. In a statement, Bragg, through its internal studios, said it will develop content tailored for the Finnish market.
Industry experts have estimated that the 2027 total online gambling market (casino and sportsbook) to be between Euro 1.1 billion and Euro 1.3 billion. The new regulatory framework includes a 22% GGR tax rate for licensed operators.
“We are focusing our efforts on supporting premier partners in high-growth regulated markets, and Finland represents the next major European opportunity,” said Matevž Mazij, Chief Executive Officer for Bragg Gaming Group.
