Mammoth vs Golden Knights Game 2 Prediction, Odds & Same-Game Parlay (Apr. 21)

The Utah Mammoth (43-33-6, 21-17-3 away) did everything but land the plane in Game 1 of their series against the Vegas Golden Knights (39-26-17, 20-12-9 home).

Now, the task is to return home with a split in Game 2 Tuesday night in Sin City.

The sportsbooks aren’t so sure, as Vegas is the betting favorite in the NHL odds.

Puck drop is set for 9:30pm ET from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with ESPN2 carrying the broadcast coverage.

Mammoth vs Golden Knights Prediction

Utah’s inaugural foray into the Stanley Cup playoffs looked like it was going to. be a great one, as they went toe-to-toe with Vegas, and enetered the third period with a 2-1 lead.

However, the Golden Knights rallied with three unanswered goals, the final by Ivan Barbasheev into an empty net to seal Game 1 and put Utah down 1-0 in the series.

Aside from the result, the Mammoth more than held their own, outshooting Vegas 33-31, and, despite getting outhit 51-31, matching physicality and grit from the Pacific Division champs every step of the way.

Vegas, though, has something cooking since John Tortorella took over the team late in the season, moving to 8-0-1 in the nine games he’s been behind the bench.

Vegas Stats to Close Out Regular Season

The Mammoth, who actually tied Vegas in the goals for category to close the year, just couldn’t find another one to put past Karel Vejmelka, who made 27 saves on 30 shots.

But this one has the makings of another close contest, with tight checking, physical play, and a low scoring affair. Because it seems like it’s the only style of game these teams know how to play.

Their Game 1 result made it the sixth straight head-to-head (in seven career meetings) that they’ve stayed at the six goal mark combined, creating an Under record of 1-4-2.

So thank DraftKings for setting their line at a generous 6.5 goals (for now). Get your wagers in now before that window closes, as I expect another rough and tumble affair, and the result cashing Under the total.

Vegas checks in as the betting favorite, getting -150 odds to win outright, the same number they had in Game 1. It’s a more profitable +160 odd payout to cover by at least two goals, both odds courtesy of bet365. Over at Caesars, Utah’s odds to win outright sit at +140, while keeping it inside a two goal spread is a less fruitful payout at -175.

Over bettors should stay at FanDuel. where the total is set at 5.5 goals, while Under bettors can add a whole other goal onto that total at DraftKings. The only time these teams have only ever topped that figure was in their inaugural meeting, on November 2, 2024.

After checking the NHL player props, I’ve crafted a 3-legged parlay that builds on my Under bet.

Mark Stone has been rejuvenated under Tortorella. His goal in Game 1 gives him six goals in his last seven games. I’m picking him to stay hot Tuesday night. And it was a quiet night for Utah’s leading goal scorer Dylan Guenther, who failed to crack the scoresheet and finished -1 in Game 1.

In the four previous times Guenther has been shut out of the scoring against Utah, he’s responded with at least a point in the next matchup. With a biggie coming up, expect him to produce on the big stage for the Mammoth.
