It’s a light slate in the WNBA tonight with just two games on deck. The second features the Phoenix Mercury (8-16, 5-8 road) taking on the Minnesota Lynx (17-6, 7-4 home), in a contest online sportsbooks expect to be a rout. The Lynx are currently pegged as 12.5-point favorites, and there’s an argument to be made that line isn’t nearly high enough.

Tip-off is scheduled for 9pm ET, 6pm PT, from Target Center, in Minneapolis, MN, with streaming coverage available on Peacock.

Minnesota initially opened up as 13.5-point chalk, but that number has since been bet down a point. The total sits at 169.5, with the Lynx listed as -700 moneyline favorites, and Phoenix coming back as +500 underdogs.

The Mercury hasn’t shown a ton of bite recently, dropping three straight including an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the defending champion Las Vegas Aces last time out.

Mercury vs Lynx Predictions

• Minnesota Lynx -12.5 (-102 at Bet365)

Phoenix was blown out by 48 points in that matchup, and also have a 34 point loss to this Lynx team on their 2026 resume. The Mercury are 0-2 against Minnesota this season, and are a league-worst 9-15 against the spread. Their awful track record ATS and recent form would be plenty of ammo for me to lay the 12.5-points with the Lynx, but there’s a few other things working in Minnesota’s favor.

Let’s start with their dominance over the rest of the league. Minnesota owns the best record both straight-up and against the spread, and are the favorites in the WNBA championship odds. They’re 10-1 versus Western Conference opponents, and are the only franchise in the WNBA to rank top-two in both points for and points against.

Also working in their favor, is an improved bill of health. They’ve racked up this phenomenal record despite missing their second leading scorer Olivia Miles and Napheesa Collier for large chunks of games, but Miles returned to action over the weekend to splash 23 points. She’ll once again be in the lineup versus Phoenix, while Collier is back at practice and her return is imminent.
