Neofitov partypoker

Alexey Neofitov took down the record-breaking PartyPoker Tour Madrid Main Event in quickfire style on Sunday, capturing €43,250 and defeating an enormous field of 535 entries at the Casino Gran Via in the Spanish capital.

Neofitov, who entered the final table as the chip leader, locked up the biggest live score of his career to date, making a heads-up deal with Hugo Caldeira to play for €7,500 and the coveted PartyPoker Main Event trophy, before closing it out in a little under 2 hours.

It was a talented final table for Neofitov to navigate, too, including a WSOP bracelet winner from 2024 in Daniel Triana Ruiz and 2013 WSOP Main Event 35th-placed finisher Nicolas Le Floch among a host of other tournament winners.

Still, it would be Neofitov’s day, as he took home the lion’s share of the gigantic €238,075 prize pool and the honor of calling himself PartyPoker Tour Madrid Main Event champion, on what was a hugely successful visit to Spain for the PartyPoker Tour, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Mazzarella Sticks the Landing to Win Anything But Mini Main

Mazzarella

There was nothing mini about Madrid’s Mini Main Event as Federico Estrada Mazzarella outlasted a 918-entry field to bank €16,550 from a prize pool that smashed the €50,000 guarantee, growing to a gigantic €114,750.

Setting the tone for what would become a recurring theme throughout both the Main Event and the wider festival, Mazzarella captured the record-breaking title in style at a final table heavily dominated by Spanish players, who accounted for seven of the final nine competitors.

As reported by Poker.Pro, the decisive hand came after just 15 minutes of heads-up play against Jon Baraiazarra. Mazzarella got his chips in holding 66 against Baraiazarra’s K10 and survived the race in style by rivering a straight to seal the victory and turn his €150 buy-in into a pretty sweet payday.
