Nolimit City has returned to one of its best-known Western-themed slot series with Tombstone Begins, a new release that takes the story back to its origins. The game acts as a prequel to the wider Tombstone saga, which previously included titles such as Tombstone, Tombstone RIP and Tombstone Slaughter: El Gordo’s Revenge.
The latest entry shifts the focus to the early days of the setting, before the Tombstone name became tied to violence and outlaw mythology. The game keeps the studio’s familiar hard-edged Western tone, while placing more emphasis on revolver-driven mechanics, sticky respins and xNudge features.
Tombstone Begins will be available to Nolimit City partners from May 12, 2026. The slot carries an extremely volatile profile and offers a maximum payout of 20,000x the base bet.
Western Theme Returns With a New Setup
Tombstone Begins is played on a five-reel grid with a 4-5-5-5-4 row structure and 22 paylines. The game accepts stakes from 0.20 to 100, depending on operator settings.
Its default RTP is listed at 96.02%, although lower variants of 94.03% and 92.03% are also available.
The visual setting places players in an unfinished version of the Tombstone world, with a lonely Western structure, rough timber, dust, blood-marked symbols and a sparse frontier atmosphere. The slot presents the series before its later, more established setting, building the idea of a violent origin story around gunfire and outlaws.
Regular symbols include card ranks from 10 to A on the lower side of the paytable. Higher-value symbols include a knife, revolver, dynamite, money bag and gold bars. Wilds can appear on any reel and substitute for regular paying symbols.
The central feature in Tombstone Begins is the Revolver symbol. Each Revolver lands with three to six bullets, and every spin causes each Revolver to fire one bullet. If more than one Revolver appears, they fire in order from left to right and from top to bottom.
Each bullet can trigger a different effect. A Wild bullet turns its target into a Wild, while an xSplit bullet doubles the multiplier value of the hit symbol. An Upgrade bullet changes the target symbol and all matching symbols on the reels into a higher-paying symbol. The xNudge Wild bullet can activate above reels 2, 3 or 4, later nudging into full view once respins end, with each nudge adding one to the win multiplier. The xNudge Multiplier bullet can increase an active xNudge multiplier by 2x, 3x, 10x or 100x, with values added together. A Random bullet changes into another bullet type when fired.
Winning combinations activate respins. Symbols involved in the win stay locked in place, and the sequence continues if new qualifying symbols land. These can include new winning symbols, symbols matching the current winning type, Wilds, Bonus symbols in the base game, and Revolvers. The sequence pays when no further qualifying symbol lands.
The game also includes Unleash and Refill symbols. When Unleash appears, all Revolvers immediately fire their remaining bullets. When Refill appears, each Revolver reloads to a full chamber of six bullets. Only one Unleash and one Refill symbol can land on a spin, but both can appear together.
Bonus Rounds and Paid Options
Landing three Bonus symbols triggers six Gunslinger Spins. In this mode, the xNudge multiplier does not reset between spins, and each additional Bonus symbol adds another spin. Four Bonus symbols award eight Outlaw Spins, where all Revolvers land fully loaded with six bullets. Five Bonus symbols trigger 10 Widowmaker Spins, adding a mechanic where Revolvers empty their remaining bullets before xNudge activation or before the final respin sequence ends.
Players may also receive an option to buy an Extra Spin after a bonus round ends. The previous xNudge multipliers remain in place, and the purchased spin guarantees a Revolver with an xNudge bullet. The offer appears only when its cost is no higher than the total win.
The game includes several Nolimit Booster options. Bonus Booster costs 2x the base bet and guarantees a Bonus symbol on reel 2. xNudge Showdown costs 30x and guarantees a Revolver with two xNudge bullets and two xNudge Multiplier bullets. xNudge Fully Loaded costs 190x and guarantees a Revolver with three xNudge bullets and three xNudge Multiplier bullets. Revolver Mayhem costs 999x and guarantees six Revolvers positioned above and below reels 2, 3 and 4, with selected bullets tied to xNudge effects.
The Nolimit Bonus menu also lets players buy bonus rounds directly. Gunslinger Spins cost 70x the bet, Outlaw Spins cost 200x, and Widowmaker Spins cost 600x. A Lucky Draw option costs 255x and assigns a chance of entering one of those three rounds.
Per Lindheimer, Head of Product at Nolimit City, said in the company’s press release: “After all the shootouts and blood-soaked mayhem the Tombstone series became known for, we wanted to take players back to the moment the first outlaws rolled into town looking to make a name for themselves. This time, the revolver has been upgraded to make the reels feel like a full-blown Wild West shootout where one bullet can change everything. We’re proud to bring another chapter to the Tombstone saga for the players who’ve been riding with this series since the very beginning.”
