Garrett Adelstein Poker

A high-stakes poker player made a legendary call to win a $721,000 pot against a bluffing Garrett Adelstein in the latest No Gamble, No Future episode on PokerGO.

Episode 6 of Season 7 aired Tuesday night, and it featured some monster hands. Adelstein lost one massive hand, but he was incredibly fortunate in another one against Justin Gavri.

That hand saw a flop of 2103, and Gavri was all in with AA and $263,200 in the middle. Adelstein had Q10 and both players agreed to run the turn and river twice. Improbably, a 10x appeared on both turns, sending the entire pot in Adelstein’s direction. But ball don’t lie, as he’d lose all that and more back later in the game.

Wild Bluff Attempt

Adelstein’s lucky win was just one of a few hands that have gone his way during his No Gamble, No Future appearance. The Los Angeles high-stakes cash game legend lost multiple six-figure pots last week in the $200/$400/$800 no-limit hold’em game. It was more of the same this week.

The hand that was most costly took place late in Episode 6. Shawn Madden, the big blind, made it $5,000 to go with A10. Adelstein, the small straddle ($800), called $4,200 more with Q2.

Two players saw a flop of 4910. Madden continued for $7,000 with top pair, and his opponent floated in position with queen-high. The turn was the 8, which gave Adelstein a gutshot straight draw. Madden bet $15,000 before facing a raise to $55,000 from a bluff, which he called.

The K on the river was a brick, although it put an over-card to the flopped top pair on the board. That convinced Madden to check the river, but Adelstein moved all in for $292,000, more than double the size of the pot.

Madden faced a difficult decision against an aggressive player known to make over-bets like this with both nothing or the nuts. He went into a deep tank, and mumbled, “I’m supposed to fold here.” But after sipping his coffee, he put chips in the pot to indicate a call. Adelstein showed the bluff, and Madden took down a pot worth $721,000.

“That’s one of the best calls we have seen in the history of this show,” No Gamble, No Future commentator Jeff Platt proclaimed.

Adelstein gave his opponent a fist bump and paid off the bet before rebuying for $100,000. No Gamble, No Future Episode 7 on PokerGO will air next Tuesday at 5 p.m. with a new table that includes Jennifer Tilly and Phil Hellmuth.
