Éder Militão and Kylian Mbappé were on target as Real Madrid beat Espanyol 2-0 on Saturday to extend their lead at the top of LaLiga.

Espanyol came to the Bernabeu hopeful of an upset after a strong start to the season, but Militão scored midway through the first half before Mbappé doubled the hosts’ lead at the start of the second.

The result means Xabi Alonso still boasts a 100% league record as Madrid manager, winning all five of his games in charge.

Kylian Mbappé scored his fifth goal of the short LaLiga season in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Espanyol.
