Regulating the Game opens speaker call for March 2027 Sydney conference

Regulating the Game has opened its Call for Speakers for the seventh edition of the conference, to be held from Monday 8 to Wednesday 10 March 2027 at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.

Regulating the Game, an international forum on gambling law and regulation, convenes regulators, policy makers, operators, compliance and integrity professionals, manufacturers and suppliers, clinicians, researchers, academics and advisers.

The program is designed to strengthen individual and organisational capability and deepen sector knowledge. Its mission is to advance informed dialogue on evidence-led policy, contemporary regulatory practice and the integrity that sustains public confidence, and is equally concerned with innovation, leadership and stewardship.

“The 2027 Call for Speakers invites proposals that stimulate curiosity, challenge assumptions and advance discussion, whether they speak to regulatory practice and reform or to industry innovation, leadership and stewardship,” organizers said.

Contributions are welcomed across the program’s core themes: policy, regulation and enforcement; compliance, AML and financial crime; products, technology and innovation; safer gambling, harm prevention and consumer protection; integrity, intelligence and security; and leadership, governance and public trust.

A broader platform for 2027

The seventh edition brings all formats together within the main program, with Pitch! staged on the main plenary for the first time.

• Keynotes, Featured speakers and panels anchor the program across the three days. Keynote and individual sessions run for 40 minutes including audience questions, while panels run for one hour and are structured to bring diverse expertise and perspective to each discussion.
• MasterClass offering a practitioner-led format for delegates seeking to build capability and work through complex challenges in detail. Regulating the Game welcomes expressions of interest from prospective MasterClass leaders.
• Pitch! moves into the main plenary for the first time, having previously been staged as a standalone event at the Sydney Opera House. As a marketplace for ideas, Pitch! brings organisations and emerging providers onto the same stage, where solutions are tested against shared measures of impact, feasibility, scalability and governance fit.
• Industry Spotlight Sessions return as concise 15-minute presentations on the main stage, giving manufacturers, operators, suppliers, technology providers and other established organisations a platform to speak to organisational strategy, sector direction and market-ready capability. Slots are limited.

Conference Chairs

Regulating the Game is also inviting expressions of interest for Conference Chair roles. Each Chair stewards a day of the conference, shaping dialogue, setting the tone, and guiding discussion across the program’s central themes.

“The role suits persuasive communicators with standing across the sector who can frame critical conversations and draw out diverse expertise and perspective,” organizers said.

• The conference runs from Monday 8 to Wednesday 10 March 2027, with the RTG Global Awards Gala Dinner on the evening of 9 March 2027.
