  • The Minnesota Twins are -140 favorites to top the KC Royals in their series finale Thursday
  • KC won 4-0 last game, and have taken four of the last six head-to-heads
  • Read below for the my Royals vs Twins picks, predictions, updated odds and betting splits

The Minnesota Twins (54-55) look to bounce back as home favorites against the Kansas City Royals (46-63) Thursday, with a series win still up for grabs.

Kansas City is riding high after a 4-0 shutout victory yesterday, bouncing back from a 3-2 loss in the opener. The Twins managed just five hits in a scoreless effort and will need run producers like Royce Lewis to wake up.

The Royals have taken four of the last six against Minny, yet find themselves as the road underdog in the MLB odds.

First pitch goes at 1:40pm ET today from Target Field in Minneapolis, with MLB TV providing the broadcast coverage.

KC Royals vs MIN Twins Picks

Picks:

  • Minnesota Twins Moneyline (57¢ via Kalshi)
  • Under 9.5 Total Runs (50¢ via Kalshi)
  • Bailey Ober Over 3.5 Pitcher Strikeouts (-167 via Caesars)

With two vulnerable MLB probable pitchers taking the mound, I still see a definitive edge for the home side. The Twins boast a stronger overall lineup, having pushed across 514 runs this season compared to Kansas City’s 456.

Minnesota hands the ball to Bailey Ober, who carries a 4.22 ERA over 15 starts. Ober boasts a 7-3 record alongside a 1.25 WHIP. He maintains excellent control with a 2.44 BB/9, though his 6.67 K/9 suggests he pitches to contact. Recently, his strikeout numbers dipped to 5.89 K/9 over his last 10 appearances.

Conversely, Kansas City counters with Noah Cameron, who has struggled to a 4.46 ERA.

Cameron holds a 5-8 record with an elevated 1.46 WHIP. Despite an appealing 4.03 FIP, opponents are hitting a robust .279 against him.

Cameron’s strikeout upside remains his primary strength, maintaining an 8.23 K/9 rate this season.Given Cameron’s propensity to surrender hard contact and the Twins’ deeper offense, I am backing Minnesota to secure the victory.

Royals vs Twins Prediction

Looking at MLB player props, my one preferred angle is Bailey Ober Over 3.5 strikeouts. It is the player prop I can justify most clearly based on role, matchup, and price.

Ober averages 5.40 innings per start, giving him enough runway to reach four strikeouts even without elite swing-and-miss stuff. Kansas City’s lineup has struck out 883 times this season, and its current injury situation removes several of its best contact and run-producing bats. With Ober’s workload stable and the number set at a modest 3.5, this is the cleanest player prop on the board.

Kansas City ranks dead last in away runs per game, scraping together just 3.64 runs on average. Their inability to consistently string together a base hit or draw walks outside of Kauffman Stadium is reflected in a bottom-five road OPS (.668).

Conversely, Minnesota produces 4.50 runs per game at Target Field. Kansas City’s 88.9 mph average exit velocity in away games is a reminder that the Royals are not completely punchless, but their broader road production and missing bats still make Minnesota the more trustworthy side.

I am also targeting the Under 9.5 runs. Expecting a shootout with Kansas City has been a losing proposition lately. The Under has hit in 70.0% of their last 10 outings. Meanwhile, the Under has cashed in 60.0% of Minnesota’s last 10 contests. Kalshi offers the “No” on Over 9.5 runs at 50¢, presenting an appealing even-money proposition.

The oddsmakers give Minnesota the clear upper hand at Target Field with -136 odds at FanDuel. The runline initially hit the board with Minnesota at -1.5 (+150). Since then, we have seen the juice shift slightly, bringing the home side to +145 odds from bet365.

The Royals are getting +120 odds to win, and a heavily juiced -170 odds on the spread, where they are getting 1.5 runs. The total is set at 9.5 runs, with the Over getting -108 odds at DraftKings.

As for the MLB public betting splits, 82% of the runline handle backs Minnesota to cover the spread. It’s a different story on the moneyline, where the Twins are getting 75% of the bets, but only 42% of the stake.

For the total, the Under is pulling in 68% of the overall money on 59% of the betting slips.
