The Smashing Pumpkins have officially announced a major concert at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2026, the performance is part of the band’s upcoming fall tour, titled The Rats In A Cage Tour. The concert series represents one of the most ambitious live undertakings by the group to date.
The tour will feature a unique two-set format that spans the musical history of the alternative rock icons. The first set is designed as a theatrical celebration of their seminal 1995 album, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, following its recent thirtieth anniversary. Frontman Billy Corgan stated that staging a performance centered around this specific album has been a discussion topic for over a decade. He noted that the stars have aligned to build a special night around its enduring aspirations and ideas.
The second set of the evening will cover nearly four decades of music, providing variance from night to night with a mix of hits, deep cuts, and fan favorites ranging from their debut album, Gish, to their recent release, Aghori Mhori Mei. The announcement follows a promotional event titled Requiem For ZERO, held at the Hollywood Legion Theater in Los Angeles, where three hundred guests witnessed a symbolic funeral for the stage persona Corgan first adopted during the original album era.
Before embarking on the autumn tour, the Smashing Pumpkins are scheduled to headline the Lollapalooza festival in their hometown of Chicago on July 31, 2026. This marks their first appearance at the festival in over thirty years. The full North American tour will officially launch in September in Columbus, Ohio, before traveling to major cities across the United States and Canada.
Ticket sales for the Las Vegas event began in mid-May, featuring various pre-sales for credit card holders, mobile network customers, and members of the official fan club, the Viz Club. General public ticket sales opened on Thursday, May 21, 2026, through standard ticketing platforms. The band is also offering specialized ticket packages that grant access to an exclusive pre-show acoustic performance, a question and answer session with the musicians, dedicated lounge access, and commemorative merchandise.
This latest tour continues a busy period for the Smashing Pumpkins, who have maintained a highly productive schedule this decade with multiple album releases and anniversary reissues. Corgan has additionally remained active with independent media projects and leadership roles in professional wrestling.
