The San Antonio Spurs handed the defending-champion Oklahoma City Thunder their first loss of the 2026 postseason on Monday, taking a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference Final in the process.
After the 122-115 double-OT victory, San Antonio’s NBA championship odds improved significantly.

The Spurs had been trading at 21¢ at prediction site Kalshi on Monday afternoon, which is equivalent to +376 odds in standard sports-betting parlance. As of Tuesday morning, San Antonio was trading at 40¢, which is equal to a +150 price in American odds, nearly a two-fold increase in the Spurs’ implied win probability.
The Thunder, meanwhile, saw their price to repeat as NBA champs fall from a high of 63¢ (-170) all the way to 42¢ (+138), just a hair in front of San Antonio.
The two Eastern Conference Finalists, the Knicks and Cavaliers, are relative afterthoughts in this market. Whichever team comes out of the West, is going to be a heavy favorite in the NBA Finals. New York is trading at just 16¢ (+525) while the Cavs are a distant 5¢ (+1900).
Spurs vs Thunder Opening Game 2 Odds
Oddsmakers aren’t shying away from the champs after their narrow Game 1 setback. Sportsbooks have opened OKC as a 6.5-point favorite in Wednesday’s Game 2, the same as the Game 1 spread.
Victor Wembenyama was nothing short of sensational in San Antonio’s Game 1 upset. The NBA Defensive Player of the Year poured in 41 points while grabbing 24 rebounds and adding three blocks (all game-highs). Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 24 points and 12 dimes for OKC in a losing effort.
