A $2/$5 no-limiit hold’em cash game with a $500 maximum buy-in at Hustler Casino on Tuesday had a $100,000 hand when two straight flushes were dealt.
The Southern California poker room had been offering its own version of a bad beat jackpot, which they dubbed the Super Jackpot. Sept. 1, 2025 was the start of the promotion, but it took quite some time before the rare qualifying hands hit.
Rare Poker Hands
Hustler Casino, home to the popular Hustler Casino Live cash game show, started a regressive jackpot promotion last year. The qualifier began with a queen-high straight flush losing — both players required to play both hole cards.
Each week, the qualifying hand decreased and was down to quad deuces losing, which enticed players to come out to Hustler and chase the $100,000 jackpot. On Tuesday, a player with 6♦5♦ was all in on a board of 7♦7♠8♦8♠9♦. There was approximately $200 in the pot when the player holding a straight flush was all in for about $140.
Although it would have been unlikely, the player hoped his opponent had a superior hand, because that would have meant the Super Jackpot would have been triggered. And that is exactly what happened when the second player in the hand turned over J♦10♦ for a superior straight flush. There were two additional potential hands the other player could have been holding that would have set off the jackpot, both being quads.
The player who lost the hand took home $40,000, or 40% of the pot. A payout of $20,000 went to the bigger straight flush, while the remaining six players in the game each received an equal split of the remaining 40% share, which came out to $6,600 a piece.
Hustler Casino in Los Angeles, originally owned by the late Larry Flynt, an avid high-stakes poker player, has 50 poker tables. The card room, which also runs the nearby Larry Flynt’s Lucky Lady Casino, is known for hosting some of the biggest games in California, on and off the Hustler Casino Live stream, and it is also a popular spot among low-stakes grinders and recreational players.
