These Two Poker Legends are Closing in on Bryn Kenney’s All-Time Earnings Record

Bryn Kenney’s longstanding stranglehold atop the all-time tournament poker earnings list could soon be in jeopardy.

The New York high roller has topped the Hendon Mob charts for most of the past six years. But two crushers appear to be on track to potentially catch up within the next year or so.

As it stands, Kenney has $78,739,828 in career cashes, with a high score of $20,563,324, the largest cash in tournament poker history, a second-place finish in the $1,000,000 buy-in Triton Million for Charity event in 2019. Aaron Zang won the tournament but received less after a chop had been agreed to before heads-up play began.

Who Could Catch Poker’s Top Earner?

Daniel Negreanu, who previously surpassed the record held by Erik Seidel, lost his all-time cashes lead to Justin Bonomo in 2018. Kenney and Bonomo would go back and forth for the lead multiple times over the following few years.

The race died off considerably in recent years, however, as Bonomo discontinued the tournament grind. He hasn’t competed in any live events since he faced disqualification for wearing pro-Palestine attire in the 2024 World Series of Poker Paradise (WSOPP) Super Main Event last December.

Bonomo is stuck on $65.6 million in career cashes, $13 million behind the leader. He’s faded to fifth place, and it doesn’t appear that he’s interested in trying to get back in the race. But the same can’t be said for Stephen Chidwick and Jason Koon, both of whom are in a position to give Kenney a sweat soon.

Kenney had two final table appearances in high roller events at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP), which helped him approach $80 million in cashes. But he’s on pace to finish 2025 with his lowest overall tournament output since 2022. That has opened the window for Chidwick, who now has $73,713,729 in cashes, to creep to within $5 million of the lead.

Chidwick, a Poker Hall of Fame lock for years, has already cracked the $10 million mark in 2025, the first time since 2019. He’s cashed for nearly $5 million more than Kenney this year, and in doing so has made the race interesting. One more year at this pace and he’ll move into the lead.

And then there is Koon, a PokerStars ambassador who is also slowly but surely closing in on Kenney. Koon, like Chidwick, has done it with consistency year after year, as opposed to Kenney picking up some enormous scores that have catapulted him to the top.

Koon was not even in the conversation to become the all-time leader four years ago. He trailed Kenney and Bonomo in December 2021 by about $22 million. But, with $68,959,006 in cashes as of Oct. 2025, he’s a few bucks under $10 million off the lead.

Not long ago, it appeared that Kenney should only be concerned with Bonomo catching his record. And when Bonomo began to scale back his tournament schedule, it seemed as if his lead might never face any competition. But Chidwick and Koon are starting to make a run, and Mikita Badziakouski ($65,707,194) is a couple super high roller wins away from joining the race.

Kenney won’t hold that lead for eternity, even if Koon and Chidwick don’t catch him. One day, a tournament operator will host a $10 million buy-in event, and some random player will take it down for $100 million to become the all-time leader. For now, the race is starting to get juicy, but Kenney could make it lopsided again with a couple more of his patented monster scores in the coming year.
