U.S. Ambassador to Malta H.E. Somers Farkas visited the Malta headquarters of SiGMA Group on May 22, as the gaming and technology events company seeks to strengthen ties with diplomatic and government stakeholders through its Business-to-Government initiative.

The visit underscored SiGMA’s efforts to position itself as a platform connecting private industry, regulators and government officials across the gaming, technology and digital innovation sectors.

Ambassador Farkas toured the company’s Malta office alongside Robert Cutajar, SiGMA’s Head of International and Government Relations for Europe and the Mediterranean. The visit included presentations on the group’s technology projects, networking programmes and affiliated initiatives, including MedTech World and iGaming Academy.

SiGMA, which hosts conferences and summits across six continents, operates a Business-to-Government programme designed to encourage dialogue between private companies, regulators and public institutions in order to foster cross-border partnerships.

Farkas, who assumed her role as U.S. ambassador to Malta in November 2025 following confirmation by the U.S. Senate and appointment by U.S. President Donald Trump, said the visit offered insight into Malta’s innovation ecosystem and the company’s international operations.

I appreciated the warm welcome and opportunity to engage with the dynamic SiGMA team and valued gaining insight into SiGMA Group’s increasing influence in gaming, digital health, and technology,” Farkas said. “I too personally admire its philanthropic efforts around the world.”

The company is continuing to expand internationally while focusing on strategic engagement and cross-border partnerships. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange ideas, explore collaboration opportunities and strengthen international partnerships as SiGMA continues expanding its international presence, including in Spain.
